We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany May and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a teacher, you really don’t make a lot of money. It started off as letting me make a few extra dollars to support my classroom needs. Then as my business grew it started supporting my needs in the classroom and personally.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an 18-year veteran teacher. I taught 3rd grade for five years and this is my 13th year in 1st grade. I’m most proud of receiving Teacher of The Year in Humble ISD during the 2012-2013 school year and Teacher of The Year in Cyfair ISD during the 2015-2016 school year. It’s such a HUGE accomplishment to receive this award not only once, but twice in two different districts. Not to mention that I’m a black woman too. Teaching I believe has been a true gift of mine. However, there have been many obstacles during the journey. I believe prayer, hard work, and consistency have gotten me where I am today. I’ve learned that accomplishments and goals take time and that everyone’s journey is so different. I had to let go of comparing myself to others who had taught longer than myself or began their side businesses before me. I want the world to know that my brand wants every teacher/educator to feel like they’re a fab teacher. I LOVE speaking with teachers all over the world and helping them with classroom management. I want them to know that with the products I sell and the consulting that I do, that they can have a smooth, safe, happy, loving well-managed classroom.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my goodness, where do I begin? So, some of my favorite spots where we would go would be the following; The Galleria Mall for some major shopping cardio and people watching. I LOVE to people watch. We would also, include Rice Village area shopping because I love walking around the shops and local bookstores. Then we would definitely, check out the Premium Outlet Malls in the Cypress area. Some of my favorite places to eat and take my besties would be Pappadeaux, Grand Lux, Willie’s, The Aquarium, and The Taste of Texas. We would definitely go and work out at Memorial Park and visit all the museums Houston has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to first shout out my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has given me the gift of teaching and creativity. I would also, like to shout out my mother. She has always been my biggest supporter and fan. When I needed tough love she gave it and still does, but also when I’ve needed and continue to need words of encouragement she gives it. My mother is always checking on me and my goals and I’m so thankful because she’s always praying and a God-fearing woman.
