We had the good fortune of connecting with Tilesha Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tilesha, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
This question is completely relative to my life as we speak. I have a son now who’s one and I have learned (and still learning) that balance is such a big priority in my life. Before I became a parent, I would just wake up without a plan and go with the flow of the day. Now my days are planned. Planning starts on Sunday’s and updates takes place throughout the week. With planning in advance, it improves my work week, social life, and most importantly my life as a parent.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a makeup artist and content creator. I’ve been a professional MUA about 7 years (possibly longer) and I recently just started creating content such as cooking videos, unboxing videos, home decor videos, etc. In regards to makeup…I am self taught, my looks are very diverse, and I love watching tutorials/video to ensure I’m updated with the latest trends/products. My diversity is what sets me apart from others. I can create bold dramatic looks just as well as soft glam looks or anything in between. My clients, friends, family, and social media has played a big part in my evolution as a MUA. I also worked at MAC Cosmetics for over 4 years so that definitely played a huge role in my growth. I’m still pretty much new to creating content but I can’t wait to see what the future has in store. Along the way I’ve learned that I have so much more to offer besides makeup. Being able to allow others to look and feel there best is so satisfying however learning new things is also satisfying as well. My talents are not one dimensional, I’ve learned that I can exceed in other areas. I want the world to know that life is the most precious gift god as given us so why not make the most of it by planting more seeds than one. You can be a mom, a makeup artist, a friend, a content creator, a sister, a pray partner, a child of god, anything you want to be. Just do it with pride, respect, and dignity!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In all honesty my friends would probably think I’m boring because I don’t go out much possibly due to Covid. I’m honestly not in tune to what’s new lol! I would prefer a girls night at home, hire a chef, drink our favorite wine, and just relax. Now I can say I love a getaway as well. To reset and clear my mind, taking a trip to a place where there’s clear waters, warm weather, good food and drinks. I will always love to travel to new and exotic places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to first and foremost give thanks to my lord and savior who has never once failed me. Praying and meditation has become a part of my planning which has put my mind, body, and soul in a better place. I would also like to thank my mom. I do not go a day without talking to her and she’s encouraged me in ways I didn’t think were possible. Not only is my mom a part of my support system, my close friends are as well. They listen without judging and mostly importantly I get great parenting advise.
