We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Koon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
It’s a difficult balancing act. I’d like to think that one doesn’t suffer when I pay more attention to the other, but the reality is one or the other does suffer. Our time is the most valuable thing we have to offer. I realized I began working for myself so I wouldn’t have to miss those moments that make a life worth living. So I am very mindful of my clients, their lives and mine. I do my best to be as efficient and helpful as possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Father, Realtor®️, sometimes artist. I have done a few different things professionally, but once I started real estate I knew I had found my passion. I love helping people buy a home. I love helping people realize their dreams and be a part of that. I’ve learned that I can and will be as successful as I’m willing to be. My business only grows through my determination and willingness to put everything I can in to it. My brand in my head is “from your first home to your forever home and in to your children’s first homes” I am here to help.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tacos, tacos and more tacos then BBQ Realistically you could spend a week just eating in Houston, the diversity of amazing food here is insane. Definitely a bike ride through the heights to discovery green back through Allen Pkwy. Then some comedy at Rudz coffee at wolfsmith. You have to show them the Menil, the art car garage. A day trip to Galveston for some blue crab and a drive on the beach. Then back in to town hit a couple of art galleries and the skatepark.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughter Julia (Peanut) I have always been adventurous and lived life moment by moment. Once I had my daughter life changed from surfing, skating, music and art adventures to “holy cow” I get to shape a life adventures. She made me want to be a better person. Through raising her I realized how much I enjoy helping people and how much I love to enjoy all the small moments.
