Meet Todd Gresley | Gallery Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Gresley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Todd, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I decided (after “following the leaders”) to stray away from the traditional art gallery expectations to create a destination gallery that is casual and inviting for all levels of collectors. Too many “used car salesman” approaches, too many lofty, impossibly quiet spaces where you feel you are being watched at every step, and too many “Pretty Woman” moments of being ignored in the gallery because of my love for jeans and a t-shirt. I decided that we welcome every single person that enters, we explain that there are no sales people to follow them around and that we are here 7 days a week to help them when they are ready to take home art.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have local artists, national artists, and international artists. I have every price point you can imagine. I also have a Dali room and arguably the largest Secret Art of Dr. Seuss collection on the planet!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since we are open 7 days a week I really don’t get out much… but having the gallery in our new Arboretum location has me discovering new places in North Austin daily.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to admit that most of my drive came from people telling me “that cannot be done.” So… thank you naysayers! Anyone can do anything!! positivity is the only path to success…
