We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Henry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracy, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by people who have a passion for what they do, no matter what that is. Each of them exudes excitement, interest, and a happiness in their every day.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Tenni Love Houston is the extension of my interest in and love for tennis and all it brings to people everywhere. It celebrates the sport, the athlete, and the community of tennis. We are proud to be made in America, truly customizable and made by tennis players for tennis players. We understand the needs and requirements of today’s tennis player and her lifestyle; and provide a fabulous alternative to those seeking something other than big box uniformity. Through word of mouth and careful advertising Tenni Love Houston has grown steadily each of these last years. Because our items are made in Los Angeles, we have been able to provide our customers with a quality product not interrupted by recent supply chain issues. We continue to focus on perfecting each item, creating fashion for not only the court, but also a busy lifestyle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Assuming my friend was a tennis player, we would definitely play inside at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center, because you can play in any weather; though you do have to be with a member to play. We would also visit the museum district: stop in at the Museum of Fine Arts, probably visit the Rothko Chapel, and have drinks on the patio of the Hotel Zaza, on Herman Park Circle. A trip to NASA and the zoo would also be in order. I love the Zoo lights during the holiday season. We might have a steak at Killen’s in Pearland, and hit up any (or all) of my favorite El Tiempo Cantinas. I truly love Minute Maid park, so if the Astros were at home, it’s a fantastic place to watch baseball. I love Rice Village for shopping and D’Amico’s Italian Market and Cafe. I don’t think any trip would be complete without a quick trip to the Galleria and a lunch at Kenny and Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen. We might also stop in at the Anvil Bar, for a truly remarkable cocktail experience. But if it were raining, which it often does, we might stay home, open a nice bottle of wine and grab a pizza from Brother’s Pizza.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Bob Henry, for being my rock and well of unending support. Adeline Arjad Cook, for opening my eyes to another tennis world.
