We had the good fortune of connecting with Tre Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tre, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I believe that balance is extremely necessary when it comes to being able to see the fruits of your labor while staying focused on your end goal. I’ve found that you have to take time out to enjoy moments outside of the industry to appreciate why you have the ambitions and aspirations you have. Balance also gives you the opportunity to find the muses that inspires you to create. I admit that it’s a tough nuance to tackle but hunger and determination fuel your purpose when you struggle with the peaks and valleys we all have to endure on this climb.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If I had to say what sets me apart from others, it would have to be my study of legendary musicians and the attention to detail within my own music. The nuance that I’m most proud of is the amount of confidence my team has in me and the music we create. I know that only comes from the hard work and dedication they watch me put in on a normative basis, and I’m proud to exhibit my craft knowing that my goals are to make them proud and eventually change their lives doing what I love to do. In the most real form, My team and I have gotten to this point by not accepting the norm, and creating our own lane. Another important piece is “not taking NO for an answer”. Nothing worth doing is easy, but I was taught that growth takes place in the hard spots. Overcoming hardships is just a small part of getting to your desired destination. To sum it up, later nights and earlier mornings are a major ingredient in all of this. You have to be able to sacrifice the now fun for the lavish later. The main lesson that I’ve learned along the way is that not a single soul is going to help you until you decide to help yourself. Quoting my right hand man E, “As people, we’re just as dope as the music.” Our story isn’t about the destination, its truly about the climb.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
For me, I believe that experiences are based on the person, but vibes are evident. Long weekend trip would have to start with some dope food and drinks. Just based on the fact that I appreciate the doors that people open for me, I’m always going to be an advocate for THE TURKEY LEG HUT. In all honesty, the Almeda strip is somewhere you could take someone and they would have any type of fun you could think of.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Above all, giving honor to the most high for everything my team and I accomplish. With that being said I would have to dedicate my shout out to my family. Humility, self-love, spirituality, confidence, respect for myself as well as anything our name is going to represent our name deserves my utmost best effort. Coming up with my friends and family, being that immediate or extended, I’ve always been given edification with the mind set that I could accomplish whatever I decide to set my sights on. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here without them. Definitely a fact that they all played a major part in me being the man I am today.
