We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Bishop and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor, what do you attribute your success to?

I think the most important factor behind my success has been the people I get to work alongside every day. Being a part of a culture where people are personally invested in the success of the company is vital. Creating an authentic buy-in from the people around you where they are excited to come to work each day and feel valued, appreciated and a contributor to the growth and health of the company is something that is not easily built.
Because there is a genuine family atmosphere where there is a high importance placed on open communication, mutual respect and everyone’s well-being, there is an ability for the company to all be pulled in the same positive direction.
We have a “work-hard but have fun” atmosphere that I’ve been told is tough to replicate from other business owners and employees of ours who have come from other places of work. The day flies by because there we’ve set clear goals: outstanding customer service, delivering a high quality product and enjoying the work we do and the people around us.
Laughter is key, but so is the sense that every person is doing their part and everyone has each other’s back. Because we take pride in what we do, believe we do it better than anyone else, and will work to make that come to fruition, our customers reap the rewards and our repeat business and referral network is larger than we could have anticipated.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I set myself apart because I’ve learned to maximize my strengths- strategic thinking, vision-casting, communication, coming up with ideas, and creating a culture that people want to be a part of. And I’ve learned to delegate and empower others to help accomplish the tasks and goals that I may not be particularly gifted in.

I’ve learned to identify people’s strengths and encourage them to utilize their gifts and outstanding qualities.
To be honest I overcome challenges because I’m competitive and I always think there’s a solution available and a strategic advantage to be found in any situation. By putting your heads together with people who want to achieve the same goals, you can solve any problem. We got through COVID and 18 months of lost business, so we know we can get through anything.
My story is basically just being lucky enough to land in the right place at the right time with the autonomy to help foster a culture at Pixster that loves to have fun and loves to be the best!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I’m a huge sports fan so it just depends on the time of year. In the Fall, it’s Texans season, but the Cougars have had some great teams too if you like college football. In the winter I’m going to a Rockets game or I’ll check out some UH basketball. And in the Summer, the Astros have been on fire the last few seasons.
Obviously if you are from out of town, you have to check out all the museums and the Zoo. And there’s always a fun concert or show in town.

I’m a big fan of a great steak house or local BBQ, and luckily there are no shortage of amazing food options to choose from!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a special shoutout to Dave Cuttell, our director of Sales. He is an incredible manager, an amazing people person, and someone who sacrifices his time and energy because he is passionate about what he does. He loves the team environment and he sees the big picture of what Pixster wants to achieve. He is approachable, honest and steady as a rock. And he’s great at his job. Clients love working with him and everyone on our team only has positive things to say about his quality of work and his interactions with people at the top of our company, to the new hire who is just learning the ropes.
