We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Jerome and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career because it’s the most natural way for me to express myself and connect with people. I’ve always been drawn to creating things that make others feel something whether it’s energy, confidence, or inspiration and I want to keep growing that into something meaningful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an independent hip-hop and R&B artist focused on making high-energy music that makes people feel alive. My sound blends club-ready hip-hop, pop , EDM, rap, and smooth R&B, and my goal is always the same: create music people can turn up to, ride to, dance to, and feel confident listening to.

What sets me apart is my sound & vibe, my consistency, my versatility, and my ability to balance fun with real emotion. I’m not boxed into one lane — I can make party records, melodic records, R&B records, Trap bangers, and songs with a deeper message, but everything still feels like me. I care about the sound, the presentation, and the overall vibe, because I see myself as more than just an artist — I’m building a brand.

Getting to where I am hasn’t been easy and it still isn’t. As an independent artist, I’ve had to learn how to stay disciplined, stay creative, and stay motivated even without a big team or major industry support. I’ve had to figure out how to record, write, and improve my craft while balancing real life responsibilities. Doing all these things while also trying to remain fresh and appealing while being in such an oversaturated music space, filled with people who really don’t care about the craft and don’t have a true musical passion. Those challenges taught me how to be patient, how to trust my vision, and how to keep going even when the progress is slow.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success in music isn’t just talent — it’s work ethic, consistency, and belief in yourself. I want the world to know that I’m here to make timeless music and create a real movement. Whether if I’m gonna be timeless or not. My mission is to inspire people through confidence, energy, and ambition, and to prove that an independent artist can build something powerful from the ground up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I believe that in Houston, Tex-Mex and Asian food is mandatory.
