Meet Ty’Esha M. Hawkins | Beauty Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty’Esha M. Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty’Esha M., can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
So since a teenager, I’ve always been into beauty. When I was 10 years old my parents allowed me to attend Barbizon School of Modeling. I liked to model but I was always more interested in the hair and makeup. As I got older, my love for fashion and just all things beauty grew. I would do my makeup for my footballs game, and highschool dances as well. In 2018 I graduated from The Aveda Institute and received my Licence in Cosmetology. In 2019 I had my son and knew I needed to follow my passion. Then in 2020 when the pandemic hit, I started Beauty Bliss Glam company, Your one Stop Beauty Shop. It was easy to get into because it was my passion. The pandemic brought out the fire in me and I knew it was my time to focus on my career and not just a job.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So Beauty Bliss Glam Company is fairly new. We’re on the uprise. What makes Beauty Bliss Unique is that we are a One stop Beauty Shop. Being Licensed in Cosmetology gives me a bit of an advantage because not only am I able to sell you lashes, Lipgloss, etc. I’m also able to apply them correctly, and give you the full look that you are looking for. I’m mostly excited about merging everything together under one roof. Hair, makeup, waxing, glam t-shirts, lashes, and accessories are a few of the many things that I offer. Getting started was actually the easy part. Maintaining is the hard part. It’s so easy to get distracted or discouraged. So many people around me are doing some of the same things that I am doing, but I had to learn to focus on me and know that I can make it in this industry. I want the world to know that I’m here! I’m ready to service and give the best I can.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I’m from Louisiana, born and raised but in 2016 I moved to Houston Texas and it has truly been one of the best decisions I have made. So I can definitely say that I’m the LIT friend. Lol I love a good time. Not all the time but when it’s needed it’s needed. So first I’ll start off my going to Lost and Found. It’s just a vibe there. Good food and drinks. For a lit night, I’ll head over to The address. It’s just a great time. For brunch I’m definitely headed to Seaside for the most epic day party. It’s a must when coming to Houston. We’ll grab some lunch at Lotus cause being from Louisiana, you got to have that good ole seafood. Houston is big and I’m still exploring many places.I have a list of places that I still need to try out and I can’t wait to start marking off that list.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to Dedicate my shoutout to my Son and my family. Before having My Khalief, I was working really hard in the retail area. I would go above and beyond but would never get the recognition I knew I deserved. After having Him, I knew I needed to step my game up. I’m going to give him the world, and the only way I could do that is by putting every on me, and going hard for myself. Also to my Fiancé Keilo, I thank him for always believing in me and giving me the push I need. My mom, Sisters, in Laws always tell me how good I am at what I do, and to know that they see my potential is even more push for me. So thank y’all for being in my corner.
