Hi Tyreq, what principle do you value most?
Integrity is a crucial principle to me because it fosters trust and respect, both in personal and professional relationships. It’s about being honest, consistent, and reliable, even when no one is watching. Living with integrity means aligning your actions with your values, which helps create a strong foundation for a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art focuses on creating Afrocentric pieces that enhance luxurious homes. What sets my work apart is the unique blend of cultural richness and high-end design, infusing spaces with both elegance and meaningful heritage. I’m most proud of how my artwork transforms environments, bringing a sense of identity and luxury that resonates with clients.

Professionally, my journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Getting to where I am today involved overcoming obstacles such as gaining recognition in a competitive field and navigating the complexities of blending cultural elements with high-end design. Persistence, continuous learning, and staying true to my vision have been key in overcoming these challenges.

I’ve learned the importance of staying authentic and committed to my creative principles, even when faced with difficulties. The support from mentors and the feedback from clients have been instrumental in my growth.

I want the world to know that my art is more than just decoration; it’s a celebration of Afrocentric heritage that adds a unique and personal touch to luxurious spaces. My story is one of blending passion with professionalism to create pieces that not only beautify but also tell a story.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to my friend Jason Granados. He has been an integral part of my growth, constantly pushing me to grow and inspiring me to follow my heart. Jason’s encouragement and support have been invaluable, and I’m grateful to have him in my corner as I navigate life’s journey.
