We had the good fortune of connecting with Vic Pena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vic, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start a business where it it focus’s on the things I seen that no one else is doing. I wanted to bring content to people that provide thoughtful interaction, unique information, and an easier way for discovery of music, arts, film, gaming and more. There is so much good music, good films, and good events out there that many just don’t know. I want people to know what is out there, so created my business through content creation and influencing to let others know there is more outside of the box you see today.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a content creator and influencer media company in Texas. We provide news, reviews and more through what we like in Entertainment, Gaming/Tech, and Fandom. We have been doing this for over 7 years in Texas and have been blessed to have gone to New York and Boston to be part of major events there. This wasn’t easy as we were dealt with constant racism in the beginning since we are Hispanic and males while also being told “who are you actually?” What we did is rewrite how media covers music, fandom, film, gaming and more in way that brought more readers to discovery a different world! We wanted to showcase more of the individuals who create their craft and how it benefits the world around us. We wanted to bring more positivity in our area, so we can all smile and enjoy what we find together.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in San Antonio is taking them to Ginos Deli to get something to eat. Top 10 eatery for years on Yelp, so friends and family need to discover Gino’s Deli. Then we can shopping at La Cantera Mall or North Star Mall and make sure we waste our money fast haha. Then take them to Heroes and Fantasies to get some comics and cool collectibles to make sure there Geeky side is satisfied.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I need to shout out my team! My team of Frank Zamarripa, Daniel Rodriguez, Jim Anwar, Yerah Montez, Benard Cruz, Todd Hoefler, Alan Houghton, and Krystal Medellin have made myself and each other better individuals for our brand. I also have to shout out Gino’s Deli as they make some amazing Phillies while also being there innovative in the food industry. We also enjoy hanging out there and talking to staff.
