We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Walton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Will, how do you think about risk?
When I think about risk taking, i draw thoughts of necessity if you want to grow it life. I also think some people are born with a fearless mindset which makes taking risk effortless, it’s apart of our dna. Taking risk and naturally being fearless is what caused me to leave Chicago and move to Cleveland on my own. That moved was significant to my life and career as an owner of a fashion brand. That risk opened my eyes to a different scenario of style and fashion outside of what I was accustomed to see in Chicago. Taking risk is just something I’ve always done even when I decided to leave corporate America and begin to build my own company and brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t know necessarily what separates me from other artists who are in creative a space. I do know that I’ve been drawing my entire life my dream job was to be an architect just because I love to design and draw things from a creative thought or my imagination. Professionally my creativity is what builds my brand it is what made me start my own fashion house and brand because I didn’t see something in my closet and so I felt that my creative ability could make something that wasn’t seen in my closet nor in my friends closet. it wasn’t easy and it hasn’t been easy but being a creator is never an easy thing it’s more so of a fulfilling feeling and sometimes therapeutic exercise with a lot of passion and child like freedom because your imagination is limitless so you know however challenging it might be you know it can still be created. I’ve overcome all of my challenges by remaining fearless and using my creative imagination to help me create solutions but also trusting the right people to help me create and deliver those solutions to whatever challenge. Along the way I’ve learned that you should never stop looking for inspiration and to step out your comfort zone if you really want experience the beauty of being a creator not just in the fashion but in all walks of life but more importantly trust people to help. If I wanted the world to know one thing about me or the brand it would be, I’m no different than anyone else, I just believe in myself, my abilities and that I’ve attacked everything with a fearless mind and always have been willing to take the risk. Endless Edge was founded to encourage everyone to use their creative imagination to create the reality they want and to go about so with a fearless mindset.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being from Chicago, food is something we take pride in so a tour of some of my favorite restaurants and food spots would be a good week worth of activities. Harold’s, Portillos, Maxwells, Phlavz, Can’t Believe It’s Not Meat, Maple & Ash, or Giordanos. You pick your poison we have it here in Chicago and some of the best of everything. Our night life gives the same vibes of versatile fun depending on what you’d like to do but some of my favorite places where I know family is at and have a great time would be; Clutch, Joy, Hubbard Inn, Bounce, Liqrbox, The Wit, and Play. All are great for the nightlife here with choices on what vibes you’re looking for.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My current and future success has everything to do with my best friends who are like my brothers and my family. These two groups have always accepted me for being me which has helped me grow as a creator and business owner. Their encouragement and belief has always helped me at times where things weren’t in my luck. The belief they have in me has always been a blessing. Even when sales weren’t where I wanted them to be I could count on them to keep supporting and wearing the apparel I created. I’ve always told them this is our story I’m just one piece.
