We had the good fortune of connecting with McLain Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi McLain, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor in our success has been our people! Hands down we have the best team in the photo booth industry. Starting with our front line photo booth attendants to our back-of-house leadership team, everyone works together to make sure our clients have the award-winning experience we have become known for.
Our customer service team is incredible at working with a wide array of clients and ensuring that each one is well taken care of from start to finish. Because our rental packages are customizable, the sales and support team have their hands full with not only making sure each rental fits the client’s needs but ensuring that not a thing falls through the cracks.
Equally as important is our product and event staff. These folks are the face of Pixster. The attendants that are going to the events are friendly, energetic and professional. One thing that makes us unique is that our event staff is directly support by a production team who handles all pre, day-of and post production. These managers are the life blood of the company and ensure that on the day of someones wedding all of their expectations are met!
What should our readers know about your business?
Starting in my garage and boot-strapping the business with little to nothing, we have grown Pixster into what is now the largest non-franchised photo booth rental companies in the country. The company started with a vision to transform photo booth rentals into a seamless experience for both clients and users.
We specialize in weddings, corporate events, formals, and parties and are continually striving to set ourselves apart through an exceptional customer service experience, high-quality photo booths, unique services, and competitive pricing. Pixster has a history and goal of providing outstanding service and we offer customers a seamless experience with added services not typically provided by similar companies.
This year we celebrated our 9 year anniversary! We are blown away looking back at all of our accomplishments over the past 9 years. Pixster has serviced over 17,000 events, taken over 10 million photos and had over 1.8 million people use our booth. The numbers just keep increasing and we’re so proud of our team who has helped make Pixster what it is today.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is such a great sports town, I would have to say that seeing a game is a must! Whether you are a baseball, football or basketball fan, there is always a game to go see. The space center is also a can’t miss item. There is so much history there and you can’t help to feel inspired see all of the accomplishments we have made in space. After the game head over to the Pit Room for some incredible BBQ and a lively atmosphere. Then finish the trip with drinks at Better Luck Tomorrow in the Heights!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
From the inception in my garage to becoming the largest photo booth rental company in Houston, there have been numerous people to contribute to our success. I would like to first and foremost shoutout Ian Cote who it the co-founder of Pixster. Ian, was instrumental in the early stages of the company and both designed and fabricated our early stage photo booths. In addition, all of the employees who have come through our doors have had a lasting impact that has helped to shape where we are today. Last but not least my wife and family who have been tremendously supportive through the whole journey!
