Meet William Belle | Artist, Creator, and Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with William Belle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I truly feel this gift chose me. God knows I’ve tried every avenue except my artistic path. I mean, I’ve been drawing since I could grip a crayon. I won a couple art contest when I was in middle school. I even turn down an art scholarship from a prestigious school to pursue my hoop dreams with a college basketball scholarship. After Military, and a dozen mediocre career attempts even a slightly successful rap career, I organically discovered or rediscovered if you will my true calling. I love the freedom that art gives me. It allows me to create an exist in any world my imagination sees fit at least for the moment that I am creating.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The NUGGS Loudpack is a Cannabis Infused Cartoon Brand using Fashion, Film, Comedy, Music, Science, Cultural and Political Topics to Entertainment and educate the World. I think the thing that sets me apart from others is my natural ability to feel and see life through the eyes of others. It can be a gift and a curse.Often I find myself absorbing the energy of the environment that I’m in. Which is why I isolate and distance myself at times but I also believe it is the reason I am able to create this complex world(NUGGS Universe) and all the unique characters and personalities it embodies.
I’m most excited to see my dream coming to visualreality,to bring happiness ,enlightenment and educate people on the great medicinal benefits of this miracle plant but also Show the contrast in us as humans and the cannabis plant. It comes in all shapes and sizes colors and densities smells and flavors. There’s Indica’s there are Sativa’s and there are Hybrids, but they are all cannabis.
I’m most proud of my vision and purpose behind this creation and what it will do for not only me and my family but for the smiles, happiness, enlightenment and jobs opportunities it will create. Bringing a little bit of joy and unity to this world that’s been suffering tremendously.
To get where I am thus far? “SHEER LUCK!”Lol What is it gonna take to get where I am destined? Diligence, persistence, focus and a little bit of insanity. Because, when trying to achieve a goal bigger than some can even fathom, you must anticipate failure and when confronted by this failure you must believe by doing this again(Waking up, pushing after the same goal others can’t see, believing that what you have is special) will succeed. That’s insanity right?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, Houston has so many primo Spots.I’m steady trying out new flavors and locations every chance I can. I’m still low key learning the city myself, I do love a few of the Soul Food spots out in H-Town and the barbecue. I definitely recommend Riding around checking out the art scene, light the wall on Saint Emanuel and the East End. Museum of natural science and the aquarium is a nice spot to take the kids or Family when they come in town.For the night scene Prospect Park has a real nice vibe a Hookahbar or a low-key rooftop bar for some intimate conversation drinks maybe a cigar seems perfect for a Houston skyline.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At this stage, I would want to give a shout out to my little brother Sequoyah, he’s been a pivotal piece in me being able to keep things in perspective throughout the years. He’s always been a solid rock in my corner even when I wasn’t too focused or living up to my potential. I’ve survived pretty dark times in my life and he walk with me through it. But I’ve had a Lotta good people in my life And they know who they are. And in the near future when I do my next interview with Shoutout, I’ll be sure to give you that list because at this point I can honestly say, at this point I don’t believe I’ve reached success. I am only in the building phase in the journey of reaching success.Stay tuned.
