We had the good fortune of connecting with Zain Sanjak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zain, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well I did not really know I was going to open my own business. Everything happened randomly and the business followed. After working in the corporate field, I decided to start a family and and take it easy in the work field (part time work). I studied, lived and breathed nutrition during my undergrad and master’s years, but I also had a strong passion for cooking using my Mediterranean background. I have always loved spices and so I would engineer Mediterranean laced with anti-inflammatory spices.

A few of my husbands friends came to me and asked if I could meal prep for them because they have no time and they know I studied nutrition and cook pretty good. I started slowly and I would spend 10+ hours in the kitchen with only one helper, a 2 year old son running around and being pregnant. It was very tough, long hours and I felt like I wasn’t spending enough time with my son, but my son was my determination to push through so that one day I could give him something I built with my own hand and hard work. From one customer to another the business started growing by word of mouth and eventually partnered up with F45 gym in pearland.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel like what I do is completely different than what other meal prep companies do. I come from a Mediterranean background and was raised by my grandmother who was type 2 diabetic. After she was diagnosed with dementia I had to help my father take care of her and feed her …and I knew what I had to feed her had to be nutritional, healthy and low carb. My passion started with her and grew into a small business where I am able to change lifestyles, provide realistic meals, help with goals and results and just simply make people happy with flavorful meals.

What differentiates me from others is that my meals are made with top quality premium foods and meats, I get my meat from the butcher and it’s also considered halal for those who only eat halal. I don’t provide the macro info on my containers because I don’t want my customers to focus on numbers, I want them to focus on the portion, how foods are grouped together so that they can realistically change their lifestyles and do it on their off days. If a customer wants their macronutrient info I will personally send it to them. I use more spices than salt and the spices I use have both anti- inflammatory and antioxidant components. My meals follow the Mediterranean diet which is one of the healthiest and best food regimes to follow. I am customizable and available. My meals are flavorful and bold never bland so if you not afraid of flavor then I’m the person for you!

I also provide vegetarian/ vegan meals
