Hi Salima, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own agency, Sustain and Grow Digital, was driven by a desire to elevate the quality of advertising services offered in an industry that can sometimes be viewed as transactional or unreliable. I wanted to create a company that deeply cared about business growth and scaling brands sustainably. With over 8 years of experience running ads and generating results, I knew there was a better way to serve clients. Our goal at Sustain and Grow Digital is to leverage that experience to truly help businesses succeed, providing a level of care and commitment that I felt was missing in the industry. We’re passionate about driving measurable growth for the brands we work with, and I wanted to be a part of that transformation in a meaningful way.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Sustain and Grow Digital, we’re a boutique marketing agency focused on helping businesses grow through paid social advertising. What truly sets us apart is our industry expertise. With 8+ years of experience as paid social experts, our team has a deep understanding of what it takes to scale brands profitably. My own background includes working at META and serving as a senior strategist at top advertising agencies, giving me firsthand knowledge of what works at the highest level. But beyond our experience, what really distinguishes us is our dedication to our clients’ success. Many agencies fall short in areas like communication, strategic planning, and staying on top of trends. At Sustain and Grow Digital, you can be confident that you have a team that is fully committed to your growth and has delivered results for countless brands before.

Starting my agency in 2018 was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made. I was living what many would consider the “dream life” working in big tech, but I had a deep desire to do more. I wanted to play a bigger role in my clients’ success and contribute creatively to their growth. The journey hasn’t been easy. There were many ups and downs, and it took years of learning and mentorship from other industry leaders to find our footing. However, those challenges are what shaped us into the agency we are today. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that success is built on resilience and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

What I want the world to know about Sustain and Grow Digital is that we care deeply about business growth and scaling brands in a sustainable, profitable way. We’re not just an agency; we’re a partner in your success, and we’re proud to bring the same passion and dedication to every client we work with.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a recent transplant to Houston, I’m still exploring the city myself, but I’ve already found some great spots! For a week-long trip, I’d start by taking my friend for a walk along Buffalo Bayou. Afterward, we’d grab pizza at my favorite spot, The Gypsy Poet. Depending on the season, I’d take them to either an Astros baseball game or a Rockets basketball game for a taste of Houston’s sports culture.

For dinner, we’d definitely have to stop by Street To Kitchen, my newest obsession. Throughout the week, we’d explore the Museum District, check out the Space Center, and maybe even spend a day at the Houston Zoo. To unwind, I’d suggest heading to some local coffee shops or lounges, and for nightlife, we’d hit up Midtown for drinks and live music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shoutout to my Dad, who came to America many years ago and built a dream life for our family through hard work and dedication. As an entrepreneur himself, his daily mentorship, life advice, and unwavering guidance have been instrumental in my journey. His example and support are a big reason why I am able to run a successful agency today. His resilience and entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire me, and I’m forever grateful for the foundation he has given me to chase my own dreams.
