We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracey ReNay Hilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracey ReNay, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in my business thus far is simple yet profound: set a goal. When I say goal I mean for example an annual revenue goal and have a plan of action for accomplishing that goal. What do you plan on doing to achieve that goal? In this example I mention an annual revenue goal. I’ve always had a goal for my business however it wasn’t until I relaunched my business that I began to take a deep dive into what it means to be a true CEO of my business. This is when I began to PLAN, and EXECUTE. I now track my numbers monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and of course annually. This way I’m able to made any necessary adjustments to ensure I’m tracking towards my desired annual revenue goal.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the CEO of TRH Innovations, LLC which is primarily a products driven business. My first product is my invention the ShampooMATE: a neck rest designed to take away the shampoo day blues, and create a harmonious time during the at home shampoo process. I also have the Silky Satin Haircare Collection which consist of a moisturizing shampoo, conditioning treatment and a leave in detangler. Combined the Silky Satin Hair Care Collection will nourish, strengthen revitalize, hydrate, protect and seal in moisture to your curls and coils. I’m also the CEO of Tracey ReNay, LLC which is service based. My brand new TV Show: Heart Health with Tracey ReNay and my Consulting services are underneath this banner. Heart Health with Tracey ReNay is on the Promote Her TV Network with a reach of over 360+ million viewers, 72 million households and airs on Roku FireTV Stick, Apple TV, Google Play, AndroidTV, WebTV, iOS, and YouTube. The focus is: Women’s Health issues/concerns over 40, Relationships with self and others, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual well being. All of these can directly or indirectly affect Heart Health. What excites me about all that I have going on is the fact that I overcame some serious challenges and didn’t allow those to leave me stuck. I was able to press forward and become a Triumphant Trailblazer. I’ve learned that I don’t have to do it all by myself. I’ve been the “Strong One” for so long that it took tragedy for me to not only see who was really there for me, but for me to rediscover me. I can’t express how blessed I am for having gone through that season in my life, “my valley season” because it indeed prepared me for such a time as this. What I want the world to know about my brands and story is that when you purchase, support, or share know that you are helping me to continue to show those coming behind me that no mater what life throws you that as long as you continue to operate with integrity, faith, determination, and most importantly prayer that you will surely succeed. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me… This scripture is so powerful because most people feel when faced with a challenge that they are alone. When they actually are not. I leaned on this scripture and realized that even though I was in what felt like a dark valley that I could still WALK THROUGH it. I didn’t have to stay there, and that’s POWERFUL. So when you support me in any fashion it’s this very message that I continue to share to others.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh this one is easy. I love to eat and enjoy live music. There’s a new restaurant in the Richmond/Katy area called Krush Bistro & Bar. The food is absolutely amazing. My favorite dish is the Blackened Salmon. The staff is very attentive and the owner always makes it a point to meet every guest. They have specials for just about every night of the week. I love that I’m able to go there and enjoy a meal either inside or outside sitting on the patio while either listening to the DJ or a live band. One of the things I value about this place is the attention and care they’ve taken during this pandemic to ensure guest and staff are safe and being responsible regarding social distancing. It’s a great location and for those of us who live on this side of town it’s great to not have to go all the way into the city to enjoy a night out with that special someone or your good girlfriends. Speaking of girlfriends, I have a couple best friends of well over 30+ years. When we are together it’s as if we have no since of time. Oh my goodness the stories we could tell. LOL. Just to be in the space of my great long time girlfriends is simply amazing. There is no specific place we’d go to hang out. We have fun wherever we are. We find joy in the simple things in life: laughing until our sides hurt and tears are flowing down our faces with mascara and lashes falling off, eating great food, dancing in the backyard to loud old school stepping music (I’m originally from Chicago if we are not stepping we are dancing to House Music.). Might I also mention that we are all Extroverts so we will make a party where there is none and have everyone joining in. We are crazy! I personally love the water so any vacation we can travel to where I get to lounge on the beach and play in the water is my absolute favorite. I can’t wait until we’re able to get back to traveling. I have a couple trips on the books I’m ready to officially book. Of course you guested it; the laughter will follow. As I think about it, I’m reminded of where I actually get it from. My mother and her girlfriends were the EXACT same way. I can remember being a little girl and the parties they had, the laughter rang so loud throughout the house. Daddy and the other dads would be talking smack about something and cracking up as well. So for me my favorite spots would simply be with those I love and genuinely laugh out loud about any and everything. As the song goes “I get it from my momma”.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are three people that I must dedicate my shoutout to: 1. My Mother Mrs. Alma Hilton – We’ve been through quite a bit the past 5 years and even in our grief and quite frankly prior to she has ALWAYS encouraged and spoke life to whatever I told her I was about to dive into. She’s my biggest cheerleader. 2. Marc Davenport, The Wealth Strategist, CEO of RMI Capital: Since becoming a part of his Straight To The Top Community my business has grown to have other product offerings, and my confidence in leading my business has grown exponentially. He challenges me to develop as a true CEO by simply following his “Evergreen Principles”. 3. Najiyyah Brooks, The Brand Architect., CEO of Brooks Media Group and Founder of the Promote-Her Network. The slogan “When You Win, I Win Sis” is not just a slogan it’s a way of life. The culture she’s fostered in this organization is nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Since joining this network and working with Najiyyah learning from her Marketing Moments I’ve seen consistent growth even during this COVID-19 pandemic.
