What makes you happy? Why?

We regularly ask our interviewees what makes them happy because at the end of the day, what else really matters? We’ve highlighted some of the responses below.
I could go on in detail with what makes me happy, but it could be summed up into great experiences! Experiences introduce me to new perspectives, life lessons and the importance of gratitude. Experiences of deeper than surface conversation, experiences of being present, experiences of traveling and learning of a different way of life and experiences in trying new food truly make me happy. Why experiences? I feel a deeper connection with life itself. In regards to my fitness career path, seeing a client progress and experiencing a moment of accomplishment with a client is by far the best feeling of happiness and it’s true, I cry in excitement with them. Happiness is the result of the effort you made for something or someone that is worthy. What makes me happy is to work on myself, for myself, to myself. To know that I’m in constantly learning, growing and working on being a better person motivates me, and when I see the results,… I experience happiness. This question takes me back to a time when I was under a lot of pressure with my business and the responsibilities of a full-time job. To bring a semblance of peace into my life while traveling excessively, I physically sat down and thought about all the external aspects of life that brought me happiness. The list is as follows: spending uninterrupted time with my heavenly father, spending quality time with my parents and loved ones, developing and cultivating my intellect, enjoying a delicious, clean meal, and allocating time to unwind from the pressures of the day (even if it is only 30 minutes). I listed more than one element because all of these work in concert to bring happiness which turns into the more permanent feeling of joy. Read more>>
