Work-life balance for me is being able to show up where you can be yourself, contribute, and feel good doing it. Sometimes, work requires more of my time and attention than home. And sometimes the reverse is true. The important thing is recognizing when that is true and making sure I can do what I need to where I am most needed. I personally feel like balance looks different for me day to day. Normally at the beginning of my day I write out my to do list and try to check off as many things as I can. I also time out my day by the hour especially when it comes to days I have back to back appointments. It really helps when it comes to being productive as possible. Balance is key to the flow of anyone’s life. Without balance you feel uneasy, weighed down, burnt out, and can carry way more on your shoulders than you need to or should. Over time, my balance has changed greatly! As someone who always feels that there’s plenty to do and accomplish – having big dreams at a young age – I often would find myself doing too many things at once. Balance is very important especially if you have goals or dreams you want to achieve. I never truly realized how important it was until I dove into my tattoo career. When I started my tattoo apprenticeship. I used to work a 9-5 job that required my full attention and drained my mentality. I would then go to the tattoo studio from to learn and clean. Timing was always unpredictable because I wanted to spend as much time at the tattoo studio as I could even on my days off. Trying to maintain a balance for friends, family and chores in between was the most difficult part. I’d go home incredibly tired but eager to keep pushing to pursue tattooing full time. Read more>>
