Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?

Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. It’s definitely not easy and so we asked a few of the artists and creatives we admire to talk to us about why they chose to pursue an artistic or creative career.
I’ve always done something related to art through out my life, whether it was drawing as a kid or making YouTube videos at 14. I think being able to express myself with my creativity is something I’ve always done. When I was 14 I purchased a $100 Sony NEX-5N from a local pawn shop and in reality that is what kicked off my Photography / Videography. I decided to pursue a creative career because I have always had such a creative mind growing up. From art being my favorite class in elementary school, to starting my own jewelry business in high school, I have always found a love for creativity. Once I got to college with a business management degree and realized my sophomore year that it wasn’t for me. I then decided to switch my degree to Graphic Design and am so happy I decided to do that. Read more>>
I pursed a career in music because it’s something I always loved. I’ve always enjoyed singing and creating and writing music since a kid. So it was a no brainer that I would do this my entire life! It’s all I think of and it’s what I always dreamed of. I love the reaction from my fans when their listening to my music. I love the reaction from the crowd while I’m performing! Read more>>
