We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Brack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
As I sit here looking at all of these questions I have a really hard time deciding with one to start with or which one means the most to me, because in reality they are all equally important to me. I think about my “end goal” 24/7, that is no lie. Everything I do is to reach my ultimate goal, but honestly since starting this business that goal has changed quite a few times. I am working towards what most people are working towards….I want financial stability for my family, I want freedom to make my own schedule so I can be more present in my families lives, I am working towards building a legacy for my daughter, something she can be proud of, something that she saw me work my ass off for, something that she saw me put my blood sweat and tears into. I once heard someone say that “when you see me winning in one part of my life, I am undoubtably failing at another”. No truer words have been spoken. I am trying to do it all, but it is not easy and I am far from where I want to be, BUT one thing I will not let me child see me do, is give up on my dream. She needs to know that success will not be handed to you. I honestly never think about “the end of my career”, because when you set a final destination and you reach it, you get complacent and I don’t want to ever be complacent with where I am at. I want to keep growing and growing for the good of everyone that is a part of my team. I can tell you what I envision for years down the road… I want to have a brick and mortar location that has evolved from my mobile bar business. I want a group of employees (team) that believe in my product and my vision as much as I do. I want them to want the same things as me, to make people happy, to offer them an unforgettable experience, drinks and desserts that they can’t stop talking about, a place where they feel safe to hang out and a place where they feel like family. I want to be at a place where I can encourage people to follow their dreams as I did, and even offer advice and help to get them started. I want a business that is based on honesty, incredible service, and a real family atmosphere. Where does that put me professionally, I believe that would mean I want to be a great leader, not just at the end of my career, I want that from now and until the end. That’s the legacy I want to leave for my family.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My personality type craves creativity. Creativity fuels me, and excites me. I love to do things that others are not doing, It’s what sets my business apart. We strive to offer a one of a kind experience to every single client. Believe it or not, the mobile bar business opens doors to so much creativity. This all goes back to trying to give people a beautiful experience and the best service possible. Wild Pony Express Bar is going into our 5th year of business and I still have days where it all seems surreal to me that this little business is mine, it belongs to me & was built by me. I am most proud of this little bar and the happy moments it has given me and the memories it has created for my clients. I’m not crying, you are. lol! I seriously get so emotional talking about this, because I am so passionate about it. I want people to love it as much as I do. NOTHING about this journey has been easy, let me make that clear! I have seen so many people start up mobile bars over the past few years and selling them the next. It is A LOT of HARD WORK, especially If you are like me and starting from nothing and building by yourself. We wear 20 different hats on any given day, from marketing, to building websites, to creating menus, and new drinks, to maintaining your bar, to answering emails, to trying to find photoshoots to attend, to supplies and inventory…..and that is all before you event get to an event…lol! Hitching up the trailer, pulling the trailer, stopping to get ice, and load all of the coolers, getting to the venue and parking the bar perfectly, unhitching….and then set up begins! after 2-3 hours of setting up in 98% weather….THEN it is time to bartend for 5 hours…lol! So, yeah nothing about this is easy, but I thrive on working hard. It might take me a week to recover after every event, but it is soo worth it to me. We have been presented with some pretty big challenges since starting this business…first, COVID. I really did not think we would bounce back from that year, but it is slowly coming back. The next big recent challenge was my business Facebook and Instagram accounts were hacked. This was actually worse than the COVID hit. I lost my social media accounts that I had worked 4 years to build and then it felt like I had lost all of the momentum that my business had at the moment. We were building something special, the business name was getting out there and then when you disappear from social media for months it’s like you never existed in the first place. This was the most disheartening thing that has happened since starting my business. Hours upon hours of work put into photoshoots, collaborations, giveaways, and more to help brand awareness just gone. The hard lesson I learned with this is no one cares and no one is coming to save the day, that I had to get back on track and keep on moving! Never give up, Keep pushing. I did it once, and I can do it again.

I want people to know that my brand stands for many things! Not only are we about creating a stellar beverage experience for our clients, but we are also about creating an honest business, and a business that gives back and really cares about our people. If people understand anything about my story, I want them to to know that I never gave up, I supported my peers all the time, I believe in community over competition and I also hope that some people get some inspiration from my story.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Y’all, my life is in the wedding /events industry and creating “the best time ever” for people all the time. I would plan a huge, glam event for her and all our closest friends. I have been to many beautiful venues, but one of my favs is Mi Casa Su Casa in Montgomery, Tx. It is the cutest place, but even more important the owner is the kindest and most gracious host, so how could I go anywhere else?

We would have the best drinks from Wild Pony Express Bar, the most beautiful charcuterie trays from Elegant Eats & Events, the most beautiful floral from Stone’s Throw Floral, and balloon garlands from Balloon Mama HTX, The most bad ass mini desserts from Alchemy Bake Lab, and the most beautiful table settings and dinnerware from Grands Rentals, LLC., a dance floor, a DJ, and a limo bus to take us to our hotel afterwards, we would probably stay at Margarita Ville on Lake Conroe for the weekend and have drinks by the pool. I mean, does that not sound dreamy? Can we plan this asap!?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is a long list of people who deserve credit and recognition in my story. I will start with my mom. I watched my mom work harder than most men I was around growing up. People used to tell me that my grandfather on my mom’s side and my grandfather on my dad’s side where two of the hardest working men they had ever known, so I know it is engrained in me, but it was my MOM who really set the bar for me at a young age. Thank you, mom :).

My husband… my goodness, where would I be without him. He pushes me when I doubt my self, he has more belief in me than he probably should, and he has supported my ideas, my wins, and my failures through all of this.

My daughter, for always telling me she is proud me and keeping me going. I can’t even explain the feeling that overwhelms me when I hear her say these words.

Eric Thomas (ET) When no one else can get into my head and talk me out of dark places, I turn on ET and tune out the world. The result is FIRE REIGNITED!! Thank you ET for all of your free content that helps people when they need it the most and don’t know how to find it within themselves.
