We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhianna Barrientos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhianna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business because I wanted to share something I genuinely love with others. Baking lets me combine art and food, and there’s nothing more rewarding than creating desserts that bring people happiness. Knowing that something I made can be part of someone’s celebration or brighten their day is what motivates me every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business started from something I genuinely love doing. Baking has always been my creative outlet, and I love trying new desserts, experimenting with flavors, and learning new techniques. There’s nothing better than seeing an idea come to life and then watching someone take that first bite. It might sound a little funny, but seeing people enjoy something I created is honestly my favorite part.

Building my business hasn’t always been easy. I work full time, so a lot of my evenings and weekends are spent baking, decorating, shopping for supplies, or answering customer messages. It can definitely be exhausting, but I wouldn’t trade it. Seeing my business continue to grow makes all the hard work worth it.

I’m also a perfectionist, which can be both a blessing and a challenge. If something doesn’t turn out the way I envisioned it, I’ll remake it because I never want to give a customer something I’m not proud of. I’ve learned that mistakes are part of the process, and every one has made me a better baker.

The thing I’m most proud of is seeing customers come back. When someone orders from me again or recommends me to their family and friends, that’s the biggest compliment I could ask for. It tells me I’m doing something right.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that my business is built on passion, quality, and a whole lot of heart. Every dessert is made with care, and my goal is always to create something that not only looks beautiful but tastes just as good. Being part of someone’s celebration is something I never take for granted.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, we’d definitely spend the week eating our way through Houston. We’d start the mornings with matcha/coffee from Casa Matcha or Pearland coffee roasters, then make our way through some of my favorite food spots. I’m a huge pho fan, so Hoang My would be a must. I love that Houston has such a diverse food scene , there’s always something new to try. As a baker, I find so much inspiration from other local businesses.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Huge shoutout to my amazing family and friends!! I truly couldn’t do any of this without their endless love and support.
I especially want to thank my mom, who is always there for me through everything. Whether it’s helping with the little things like washing dishes or stepping in to pack up last-minute details, her constant presence means the world to me.
I also have to recognize my fiancé, who is another huge pillar of support in my life. From doing all the heavy lifting to lifting my spirits whenever I’m hard on myself, he always knows how to make me feel confident and supported.
Success is definitely a team effort, and I’m so grateful to have the absolute best team in my corner!
