We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Danford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I had been in property management since 2015, and I loved the concept of helping people find their new home. Over the years, I worked my way up from leasing to assistant manager and then, finally, a property manager. I knew I didn’t want property management to be my endgame. I wanted to challenge myself further in my career and give myself unlimited opportunity for growth while ensuring my clients’ biggest dreams become a reality.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am no stranger to adversity or challenges in my life. Although I believe every day I wake up is a day to learn something new and challenge myself, life has a way of making sure it does not always come easy. That’s why perseverance is so important to me. I have goals that I have set for myself and my children; and I know that with determination and tenacity, they will be accomplished.
I love meeting new people from all walks of life. It is my passion to help people find a place that they can call home, whether it be a single family home or an investment property. I am humbled and so grateful for each and every client that trusts me with their wishes and allows me to walk alongside them during their journey. My goal is to make sure the entire process from start to finish is as easy and stress-free as possible for them.
I believe that everyone should own a home no matter what their income level is or where they live in the world. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial investments you will ever make, and I would be honored to be a part of your dream.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is a diverse city with many activities you can choose from. I think some of the best places I would recommend would be places I could take my children. Just a few places would be the Houston Zoo, Aquariums and Museums you can choose from and a ton of different food places you can go after!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Three people come to mind immediately. God, my husband, and my career guide/mentor Lorannette Lewis. God has truly always been with me throughout my entire life. At times he may have been waiting for me to see him, (and frankly make better choices), but I give thanks to God for guiding me regardless of what path I was on. I very recently lost my husband to his lengthy battle with brain cancer. I’m still struggling to make it through each day and I know for certain that the drive and determination I have now stems from the support he provided to me throughout our entire 8 year relationship. He knew I would succeed in real estate even when I doubted myself.
And Lorannette, where do I begin. Lorannette is truly one of those “lead by example” mentors. She moves strategically with grace and purpose. A skill I strive to posses as I step away from chaos and anxiety and fall into my new chapter of life. The chapter in which I place all of my faith in God and resurface the encouragement my late husband poured into me before he left.
I’d also like to thank Nan and Company Properties , I recently joined this brokerage and the marketing they provide to all of their agents is unmatched in the industry. They are creating my brand from the ground up and it’s truly amazing to be apart of such an established successful brokerage. They are having me branch out of my comfort zone and embrace every aspect of myself(on or off camera). Nan will be a huge reason I succeed this year!
