We had the good fortune of connecting with Christie Kenny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Creativity is the way I express myself and my emotions. I learned from an early age that creativity was a validated form of being regardless of state. It serves to express and communicate with others. My original professional choice was physical therapy, but after years of constricting my creativity, it took its toll. I decided to follow my heart and intuition; the rest is history—one of the best decisions I’ve made. As an Interior Designer, I narrate one’s life story and implement that within every design. As a result, I’m fulfilled every day, even after many years under my belt.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our Mission is to connect with clients, hear their stories, and reflect those stories within their homes. We strive to build a strong client partnership exceeding customer expectations by offering the highest quality of service in a creative and approachable environment. It’s the foundation of our business. We take a quality versus—quality approach to our business, which hasn’t always been the case. Early on, I would take on any project, no matter the scope or timing. However, working tirelessly led to burnout and fatigue. I knew my company couldn’t keep up without sacrificing our Mission. So, after constantly updating my business plan, I narrowed in on our niche and strengths to provide clients with the ultimate interior design experience. We follow a unique process that keeps business running smoothly and keeps clients confident during the entire process. While my business continuously evolves, I’ve learned to follow my intuition, as it never fails.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The itinerary would include the Main Street Strip, River Oaks District, Galleria for shopping days, restaurants would include Marmo, Graffiti Raw, Zanti, Gatsby Steak, Bludorn and Navy Blue. Also, the Itinerary would include museums such as the Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, and the The Menil Collection. Last but not least a stop at Buc-ee’s for some Jerky, Brisket sandwich and souveniers.
