We had the good fortune of connecting with Joseph Rojas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joseph, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Over the last few years, I’ve come to notice the biggest reason for any of my successful moments, and overall growth has come down to passion and consistency. I didn’t start my photography and videography business as the best photographer, or videographer, I kept learning and practicing, reaching out to others to work with and understanding that if I stayed consistent; it would grow and because of that I have had 6 magazines published my photos, I’ve been able to shoot a variety of videos and film. I’ve met some wonderful people along my journey, I keep learning every day and my passion for what I love never dims. I still have a lot of growing and learning to do, and I’m excited more and more to see what I will be capable of a year from now, staying consistent and letting my passion and drive lead the way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When you finish reading this I’d like you to have a better understanding of who I am, and why I love what I do. My goal is always to provide a great experience from start to finish, from our initial conversation to the final products being delivered. I want every client to be joyful, from the experience and have that moment where they realize how beautiful, fierce, and strong they are. Experiencing someone view your work for the first time, and give you that natural reaction, you see them light up has always and will always be one of my biggest motivations. Growing up movies, music, arts, and creative works have always been a therapy and escape for me, and I hope I can do the same for others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is filled with wonder, however, my friend is visiting and I want them to get a feel for Houston. I’m taking them to the NASA space center, so they have a better understanding of why we are called space city, followed by the Museum district, to give them some culture, when it’s time to grub down we can hit Post, to get a variety of flavors. It better be baseball season, because I have to take them to Minute Maid to watch the game, on a Friday night so we can get an open dome, and fireworks after. 8th wonder, to warm up with some local brews, before we walk over to Truck Yard for a late night full of shenanigans. Before they go, we have to flip a coin, are we hitting the Aquarium or the Zoo this trip, one has to be checked off the list before they dip. Trying to give them a proper mix of Houston, from eats to activities, to events, and you know they can’t truly say they’ve been here without some finger-licking good BBQ and a late-night run to Whataburger.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve always been extremely blessed to have strong loving people in my corner, like my mom who doesn’t always understand what I want to do, or why, she still does everything she can to support me. My best friends, who hold me up when things get rough, they see my work and who I am better than I can at times. To mi madre, when she reads this thank you, mama, I love you. My crazy sister, gracias for the advice even when it’s wrong, but more so for listening to me and being there with me on this journey. The homies, Swove Domas, Tuday Time, we haven’t known each other that long, but we clicked immediately and haven’t slowed down yet, thank you for pushing me to be better. In a short span of time, we become brothers, and I thank you for that.
