We had the good fortune of connecting with Juicy Mf Juice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juicy Mf Juice, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is marketing. I’m all about high quality marketing material such as banners, posters, and business cards, alongside exceptional physical and digital content.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I decided I wanted to be a part of the music industry, it was through my love for the music business. I really enjoy being a student of the business, because I need to be aware of how things operate, especially since I manage myself. Performing came natural for me due to my energetic and enthusiastic personality. I am also a people person who enjoys giving people a great experience.
It hasn’t been an easy experience, because as you grow, you begin to work with people who you may have indifferences in regards to the decisions you’re making, people you associate with, or some of your actions. I believe all artist who have what it takes to be successful, find themselves battling those close to them about what they feel is or is not a good move long-term. I can’t say I’ve overcome this battle yet, because it is something I’m currently battling. Who I see myself as, vs who those around me see me as.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is to network with everyone, build long-lasting relationships, be respectful, be impressive, and keep it professional. The next lesson I learned was knowing my own worth. You should know what room you should be in and what room you should walk out of. Last, but not least protect your craft and protect your art. How? Become an expert with music registrations, contracts, and copyrights. Know who your industry leaders are and never be afraid to ask them for advice.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend come into town to spend one week with me, we would go shopping in the Galleria, go out to eat at Rouxpour in Memorial City, enjoy a day of paint ball wars in Katy, work out at 24 hour fitness, go to Cinemark Movie theater, fade Fat Crab on Westheimer near the Galleria, stop by the Green Wellness Center on Westheimer, and then eat again. I love to eat. Every day its a new menu! I would take them to the studio with me to show them my recording process, then immediately shoot the video afterwards. Tom’s Watch Bar would definitely be on my list, however the new location opens in Downtown Houston near the end of August 2023. We would go to the river near my home and meditate at least three times during their stay!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize Mainiac Visionz Films for being a force behind any content released for Juicy Mf Juice. All of my photoshoots, album or single artwork, visuals, trailers, or physical marketing materials are a result of his hard work and dedication to helping me solidify an image as a professional entertainer.
