We had the good fortune of connecting with Acheanyi Fomenky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Acheanyi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My initial thought when creating my own business was autonomy and controlling my destiny and success. I’ve long battled with this idea of being trapped in the rat race. Basically, working tirelessly for someone else, helping build their assets when I could be doing the same for me and my family. Evaluating this is what catapulted me to look into other options. In addition to this, being able to create generational wealth and help my community do the same is also a motivating factor behind my path to entrepreneurship.
What should our readers know about your business?
Nebula Logix is a black-owned cloud consulting firm whose aim is to collaborate and enable mid to small-sized businesses to consolidate their software development functions and migrate them to the cloud. We are excited to continue partnering with minority businesses within the Houston area and beyond to help them to scale for any amount of workload without disrupting their day to day business while cutting down costs. We have a team of knowledgeable consultants dedicated to empowering these businesses with a focus on improving their performance and efficiency. Though there are challenges as we pursue this path, our determination and passion propels us forward. We hope to be a pillar in the community, where we promote and create jobs for minorities in the tech space.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend visited Houston, I would first take them to the Museum of Natural Science. This museum is one of my favorite places to go to. Since it’s close by, we would probably go to discovery green next for a quick bite. Depending on the lineup, we would hit up improv for a laugh and drinks at the foundation room. Houston has the best food and multiple options, but Traveler’s table or The Warwick would be on the list to try. Food trucks are all over the city, and tacos are top tier here, so El Taconazo in downtown would be a must. It is my go-to joint when I crave tacos. Considering hookah is life in Houston – lost and found would next on the list Sunday funday. Depending on when my friend comes, I would also take them to a Rockets or MLS game. For a more chill day, Maryz is a great spot to hang out and get some work done too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my wife – Irene. She’s inspired me and pushed to be the best version of myself that I could be. She is also the co-owner of Nebula Logix. Along with the consultants under the firm. Their knowledge and expertise is invaluable.
