We had the good fortune of connecting with Sloan Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sloan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Sarah and I always knew we wanted to own our own facility one day and an amazing opportunity was presented to us by Ryan and Louie, another investors and we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pursue one of our biggest goals and dreams in life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our training facility is indoors when we are an outdoor sport and we live in Texas which is crazy hot so it gives our athletes the opportunity to come work with some of the best trainers in the business who also played college softball. Our facility is unique because it has such a cool atmosphere and vibe our athletes are able to listen to music and have fun while perfecting their craft. We have such a welcoming vibe and coaching crew the athletes and coaches are always so excited and happy when they step in the building. We have only been open 1 year but we have learned so much along the way as young entrepreneurs. Don’t get me wrong it is HARD running a new business but it’s so worth it and we know we are making a difference in these young athletes.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to the water way in the woodlands it’s not as fast paced as downtown but still get the thrill and have so much fun all while having a homey feel.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sarah Huey Ryan jurewicz
Louie Matta
