We had the good fortune of connecting with David Winters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first started KingsDetails, I wanted people to know that anyone could be successful at a young age with the help of God.

What should our readers know about your business?
KingsDetails is a car detailing business that specializes in restoring a vehicle’s interior and exterior. Such as paint corrections, shampooing and conditioning seats, engine bay cleaning, waxing, steam cleaning, etc. I am proud that I continued to stay consistent with KingsDetails even in its slow days. I would plan out my business plan in the future and market myself to various of business professionals. To tell you the truth starting a detailing business wasn’t easy. It has not been a smooth road at all. There were days when I had no clients and cars to clean at all. Moreover, I had to deal with people doubting my skills due to my age. I’ve learned techniques and skills on how to run a business, from my mother. She has her own tax business where she does people’s taxes. She taught me how to profit and how to pay my employees.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to the Woodlands Mall. I say the Woodlands Mall because there are a lot of restaurant activities; that’s never-ending fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is a special person in my life that I want to dedicate my shoutout to and that person is my mother! My mother raised my sister and I as a single mother with only the help of God to supply our needs. I watched her continue her education while working a full-time job and become a successful entrepreneur. She prayed for me to become a successful African American male and now I’m living her prayers.
