We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Leagans Todero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Power Intensives has grown into something so special. It has truly become a family. I think a lot of times people just see a dance intensive. We have become so much more and that is what I would want people to know about my brand and my story. I believe in surrounding yourself with the best, so it helps you become better. The dancers who are assistants in my company are truly remarkable. They help each other, support each other, and bring out the best in everyone they are around. Dance is more than just steps. Dance is friendships and memories. Dance is love and energy. That is what my brand is about. Dance is greater than the steps. Power Intensives creates an environment to inspire dancers to become better people and better dancers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love Main Street Tomball. There are great restaurants, shops, and wine bars. We would have to go visit everyone at The Bluebonnet Tasting Room. You can do a wine tasting there of great wines from Texas. For a nice dinner, you have to go to Taste of Texas. Finally, a sporting event in Houston is a must! I love the Texans and Astros games so much!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize a few special women in my life who have been there for me along the way. They have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly and never left my side. Cristi Higgins has been like a mother to me for the past 20 years. She has been my rock through so much and I do not believe I would be where I am today without her love and support. She is my number one fan and I know she is always cheering me on. Pam Devine is not only a friend but has been a dance mom of mine since her daughter was 8 years old. Jules is now 21 and dancing in college at Sam Houston State University. The Devine family has never wavered in their love and support of me. They believed I could accomplish anything, and everyone needs people like that in their corner. I would never have made it to where I am today without Pam and Cristi.
