We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Kizzee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think of certain risks as an opportunities. Everytime you take a business related risk, you’re gaining an opportunity. A common business related risk is advertising. You’re taking a risk losing money for an opportunity to gain more audience. Another opportunity always gained is experience and knowledge. So even if you lose money, you still gain some experience and knowledge to improve yourself and your business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I did not go to college. I tried community college and it didn’t work out. I was just tired of school in general and was ready to start making money. However, that didn’t translate to starting a business, but instead immediately looking for a job. I worked at Goodwill and a few warehouses, until I decided that physical labor wasn’t really my cup of tea. I found a Job Agency that would get me my first Corporate Job doing Data Entry. After a few short length contract jobs, I landed a job at a Oil & Gas company where I would learn a good portion of my analytical skillset. At first I started off doing data entry for the backend of the system.
Showing potential and interest in learning I was given more tasks outside of simple data entry, these tasks would be technical and analytical. I learned the ins and outs of the system, the data behind it, etc. I learned how to analyze raw data and turn it into visualizations for business units and leadership.
Because I had a wide range of knowledge for the system, I was able to land another job in the Oil & Gas industry that used the same system. Here I took on a different position in Procurement. This also landed me another job a year later in the HVAC industry in the Purchasing Department for a Manufacturing company. I was able to use my previous procurement knowledge and analytical skill set to produce reports and tools to help the department with inventory management.
All of my dedication and gained knowledge overtime has landed me in my current position as a Operations Analyst for a bank.
Was it easy? Yes and No. People will say you cannot get a good job or make good money without a college degree, I disagree. It’s not as difficult as people make it seem. It took time and dedication.
However, taking this path has opened my eyes. I see the dedication and loyalty needed to reach for a desired amount of money. I see that my passion for things have vanished with so much focus on work. This has pushed to start pursing ways to work for myself where I can give that same dedication but control how much I work and how much money I make.
I would say to others, if you have a passion make sure you never lose that passion. If anything, become an “expert” and learn ways to make a living from that passion. This is how you become a Entrepreneur.
I now have a few projects I am working on as a Entrepreneur.
One of those is called LoFi Atmos – My brothers, Charles (Kizzo), EZeekiel Aln and myself are working on this brand together. LoFi Atmos produces Lofi Music and eventually plans to expand its services, becoming a record label.
I have personal project, where I am using my technical, analytical and programming skillset to develop an app.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Charles Kizzo is always providing motivation to push himself and others forward. Without him everything would be at a stand still.
