We had the good fortune of connecting with Abimbola T. Ayorinde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abimbola T., is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite affirmation is from the Holy Quran (Quran 94:5), which states, “Inna ma’al ‘usri yusra” meaning “Verily, with every hardship comes ease.” This verse is a constant reminder that no matter the challenges one faces in life, it will always get better. This verse reminds me that I am not alone. In times of difficulties, I will go to this affirmation for comfort and hope.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A to Z Healthcare Services and A to Z Health Solutions was founded with the hope of supporting the mental health needs within our community. At A to Z, we are passionate about our work; our commitment to providing comprehensive and exceptional services to our clients and their support systems reflects our core values to serve with Integrity, Loyalty, Open-mindedness, Value, and Exceptionalism. In order to ensure a successful road to recovery for each client, we focus on each individual’s talents and strengths. We have a diverse team composed of multi-disciplinary professionals, all of whom embrace the totality of each individual and show compassion and sensitivity towards cultural beliefs, ethnicity, religion, spirituality, and past experiences. Formation of A to Z started in 2016 when I was made aware of a new mental health program with Texas Health and Human Services. After learning more about the program’s goals, I realized it aligns with my vision of addressing the needs of mental health disorders in the community. This motivated me to launch my first company, A to Z Healthcare Services. My first contract with HHSC allowed A to Z Health Services to provide case management to individuals living with severe mental health illnesses. After two years of working under this contract, I decided to apply for another state contract. In 2019, I executed another contract with the State under A to Z Health Solutions.
The road to success is filled with uncertainties. There are so many challenges for entrepreneurs working with this population. To be a successful healthcare professional and entrepreneur requires empathy, compassion, and drive. I have to be readily available and accessible at all times to de-escalate issues, intervene in crises, or if a client needs one-on-one meetings to address their needs. Despite the challenges, I find solace in making a difference in people’s lives. Having the opportunity to empower people who have been diagnosed with mental health disorders is rewarding. One of my happy moments is receiving reviews from clients and their families confirming how our services have improved their lives.
I have learned and grown so much as a business owner, such as what deserves my energy and what does not. The way people treat you is never personal. Everyone has an internal battle that they are fighting.

I want the world to know that being kind to one another supersedes everything else. The world needs to know that mental disorders are just like any other illness; therefore, we should endeavor not to stigmatize those who are brave enough to seek help. I want everyone to know that A to Z will remain the number one in ensuring you or your loved ones receive the best possible quality care they deserve.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow!!! Well, I am a home buddy. We will enjoy all the comforts of being home, but I love great food. So for lunch and dinner, we are going to do it big. , we will go to Mastro’s Steakhouse, Steak 48, The Chef’s Table, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. I am also a big seafood lover, and we will try everything that comes from the sea. I genuinely hope this friend does not have a shellfish allergy, but if they do, I will have Benadryl and an EpiPen in my purse.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh Gosh, honestly, I have a team of people who helped me through the stressful times. Without their support, I would not be here today. My parents are my most prominent advocates and supporters of me. Their random prayers makes me want to make them more proud of me. My siblings (Kay, Rukia, and Imisi) always encourage and support me in all that I do especially when life gets foggy. My husband, I am so blessed to have him in my corner. My husband is amazingly supportive and believes I can do anything. My children think of me as a superwoman. There have been some days where I felt defeated, but they will remind me that there is nothing I cannot do and that everything will be okay. My friends, Yetty and Azeeza, I am so lucky to have these amazing women in my life. To others who continually inspire, empower, and encourage me, this is a toast to you all. Thanks to everyone
