We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalia Salivia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking is an integral aspect of my approach to both my career as a graphic designer and my endeavors as a young entrepreneur. Every project I undertake presents an opportunity for growth, but it also involves inherent risks. However, I firmly believe that progress and success are impossible without taking calculated risks.

Currently, one of the most significant risks I’m undertaking is my involvement in launching Ultimate Prospect. Starting a business from the ground up is inherently risky, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take because I believe wholeheartedly in the vision and mission of the venture. With a dedicated team, strong connections, and unwavering belief in our capabilities, we’re navigating the challenges and uncertainties with confidence.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that risks are inevitable, but they also present opportunities for innovation, learning, and growth. Embracing risk has propelled me out of my comfort zone, allowing me to discover new skills, perspectives, and opportunities that I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise.

While there may be bumps along the way, I trust in the resilience of our team and our collective ability to overcome obstacles. Every challenge we face is an opportunity to refine our strategies, strengthen our bonds, and ultimately, propel us closer to our goals.

In essence, risk-taking is not merely about courting uncertainty; it’s about having the courage to pursue ambitious goals, trusting in oneself and one’s team, and embracing the journey, challenges, and all. It’s through taking risks that we pave the way for meaningful progress and success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the sole owner of NS Designs, I pride myself on delivering exceptional graphic design services that cater to a diverse range of industries. While I have a strong presence within the Track & Field community, my expertise extends beyond this niche. I specialize in providing tailored graphic design solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.

Building NS Designs has been a journey marked by challenges and triumphs. In the early stages, I faced the hurdle of establishing credibility without extensive experience or formal qualifications. To overcome this, I dedicated myself to honing my craft through personal projects and accepting complimentary work to build my portfolio and showcase my capabilities.

Gradually, through word of mouth and positive referrals, I began to gain recognition within the Track & Field community and beyond. This led to opportunities such as becoming the graphic designer for Sam Houston Track & Field and internships with organizations like TrackBarn. As my reputation grew, I was approached to join the team at TrackStar, further solidifying my presence in the industry.

Today, I am proud to collaborate with esteemed organizations such as TTFCA, TrackStar, and Ultimate Prospect, while also managing NS Designs. This journey has taught me valuable lessons in perseverance, the importance of personal connections, and the necessity of continuous learning and improvement.

Ultimately, NS Designs stands as a testament to my commitment to excellence and my passion for creative expression. I want the world to know that I am dedicated to providing top-tier graphic design services that exceed expectations and leave a lasting impact. Each project is approached with the same level of professionalism, integrity, and creativity, ensuring that clients receive nothing but the best.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During your week-long visit, we’d embark on an unforgettable journey blending the best of The Woodlands and Houston. Starting with a warm welcome in The Woodlands, we’d indulge in mouthwatering pizza at Grimaldi’s and explore the charming Market Street. Our days would be filled with adventures, from navigating the treetops at Texas TreeVentures to catching an exhilarating Astros game at Minute Maid Park. In Houston, we’d immerse ourselves in culture at the Museum District, marveling at art collections and strolling through Hermann Park. A trip to the Houston Space Center would ignite our curiosity about space exploration. Each evening would bring new culinary delights, from casual eateries to upscale dining spots. As the week draws to a close, we’d gather for a cozy brunch, reflecting on the memories made during our enriching journey through Texas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the numerous individuals and organizations that have played a pivotal role in shaping my journey thus far. Firstly, I am deeply grateful to my family and friends for their unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in my abilities. Their constant presence and encouragement have been invaluable in fueling my drive and ambition.

Additionally, I owe a debt of gratitude to the mentors and supporters who took a chance on me and believed in my potential. Organizations like the TTFCA, TrackBarn, TrackStar, and Sam Houston Athletics provided me with opportunities to showcase my skills and grow professionally. Their belief in my abilities not only bolstered my confidence but also taught me invaluable lessons in networking, business development skills, and graphic design refinement.

I also want to extend my appreciation to Coach Ortiz and the team at Ultimate Prospect for entrusting me with the opportunity to contribute to such an exciting venture. Their guidance and mentorship have been instrumental in my professional development, and I am grateful for the chance to learn and grow alongside them.

Lastly, I must acknowledge my parents, whose unwavering support and constructive feedback have been instrumental in my growth as a graphic designer and entrepreneur. Their willingness to engage with my work and provide insightful critiques has been invaluable in refining my skills and pushing me to strive for excellence.

In summary, I am incredibly fortunate to have a strong support system comprised of family, friends, mentors, and organizations who have played a pivotal role in my journey.
