Hi Detron, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When I think about risk, I think about stepping out on faith not knowing if I will succeed or fail ,but regardless of the outcome just knowing that the ride will be worth it. when I first started my content creating journey, It was by pure chance I shared with the world my personal life and development and the greatness that came out of that was that so many people could relate from personal experiences and that’s been the piller of my content journey that came with risk and being so vulnerable infront of thousands of people I didn’t know bringing them along on my journey.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im a Lifestyle content creator / social media influencer -I create content showing my day to day life as a Gen z , and I’ve been able to grow a strong engaging community of followers witch led to me being able to monetize my social media allowing me to work and partner with major brands such as Dove men + Care, Ralph Lauren Polo fragrences, IT cosmetics, Good Molecules and act. Getting to this point in my career was not always easy it was so many times I wanted to give up because I wasn’t seeing the progress I felt like I should be seeing, but having faith with a strong drive I was determined to keep pushing even when I didn’t see the finish line. often times I’ve been discouraged aswell because when you are sharing insights of your personal life on the internet you are allowing the whole world to see it and unfortunately not everyone agrees with my lifestyle so I did receive a lot of backlash and hate comments that startled me in the beginning, but once I learned the business and became wholesome within myself I was able to block out the negativity and focus strictly on the positive. I had to understand what you don’t feed won’t grow. Now my message to anyone reading never let anyone be in control of your destiny whatever you want to do, do it. often times we hold ourselves back from reaching our full potential because we are afraid of what everyone around us may think but I got to where I am today because Im in control of my life and anything I’ve ever wanted to venture off and try I was able to do so and you all should do the same never let anyone be in control of your destiny.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them over to joey uptown , Mastros , Bungalow , Ra sushi , The Galleria, Z on 23 rooftop bar, Puttshack, and the museum of natural science
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give my mother Romona Henderson recognition because watching a single mother of 3 work hard to make ends meet and make sure none of me and my siblings went without was so inspiring and motivated me to work extra hard to be able to make something out of myself to be able to take care of her.
