We had the good fortune of connecting with Donte & Cherece Goodson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donte & Cherece, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We’ve always been driven by a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for food. The idea of creating something from scratch, shaping our own destiny, and making a meaningful impact has always resonated with us.
Moreover, we’ve always been someone who thrives in environments where we can innovate, take risks, and push boundaries. Starting our own business not only allowed us to pursue our collective vision but also provided the autonomy and flexibility we craved to bring our ideas to life.
Ultimately, we wanted to build something that aligns with our values, allows us to make a positive difference, and leaves a lasting legacy. While the journey has been challenging, the sense of fulfillment and purpose we derive from building and growing our own business is truly rewarding.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Cherece is a former educator who now works full time in the Construction and Engineering industry.
Donte works in Aviation industry.
We hope that one day our business will become our full time day job.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is a melting pot which means there is always something to do that appeases every desire. If we had friends coming in for a weekend, we would definitely do the following.
Food! Grab food at one our favorite restaurants by the name of Jupiter’s in Sugarland.
Socialize in an interactive way by attending a candle making class at B elevated candle bar
Eating again! Some of our faves being Thai Cottage, Bayou Seafood & More or Graces depending on what we’re in the mood for.
Rounding out the weekend at St. Johns Downtown Church
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would first like to thank God for granting us with the gifts that we get to use everyday. We would also like to thank our supporters for booking with us, and sharing their experiences. Lastly, we like to thank our St. Johns Downtown church family for providing us with one of our first major platforms that allowed us to share our sweet treats with the congregation.
