We had the good fortune of connecting with Abrielle Brumit and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abrielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I grew up with an entrepreneurial father, spending many of my teenage years and summers working closely by his side. Watching him navigate the challenges and triumphs of running his own business filled me with admiration and curiosity. I was inspired by his knowledge and wondered what it took to achieve such success. This experience planted the seeds for my own entrepreneurial journey, fueling my desire to start and grow my own business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Houston-based hair and makeup artist specializing in but not limited to the bridal industry while always open to traveling for destination weddings. What sets my work apart is my unwavering commitment to creativity and continuous learning. I am constantly seeking ways to elevate my makeup looks and perfect my hairstyling techniques, dedicating countless hours to classes and staying updated on the top products and methods.
I take my consultations very seriously, always striving to make my clients feel seen and heard in their vision for their desired look. Being chosen as the designated hair and makeup artist for some of the most important days in a woman’s life is a profound honor, and I treat it with the utmost respect. My ultimate goal is for my clients to leave my chair feeling their most beautiful and confident, having experienced the utmost in luxury and care.
My professional journey really took off when I met my dear friend Candice. Candice entered my life at a crucial moment: I had just graduated from college with a business degree and had no idea what direction to take. At that time, I had some experience in professional hair and makeup and had recently started modeling for local Houston businesses and campaigns. Although I always aspired to be an entrepreneur, I struggled to find my niche.
Candice and I first met at one of her hair classes, where she invited me to be a hair model for the day. Neither of us knew then what an incredible journey lay ahead. After about two years of modeling for her classes and cultivating our beautiful friendship, I realized I wanted to pursue my passion for hair and makeup. On a whim, I reached out to Candice and asked if she ever needed an assistant. True to her kind nature, of course she said yes and scheduled me for the following weekend. The rest is history!
Over the past year, Candice has worked closely with me, igniting a passion I didn’t know I had. She has not only taught me everything I know about hair but has also guided me through the bridal industry, generously sharing her wisdom and experience with me as a new artist. Her exceptional leadership, encouragement, and friendship has been invaluable. Candice has been the best mentor I could have ever asked for, and I am eternally grateful for her support and guidance. Thank you friend.
Throughout my journey, I have learned the importance of resilience and adaptability. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and staying current with trends and techniques is essential. I’ve also learned that building genuine connections with clients and colleagues is invaluable. The bridal industry is a beautiful place to be. Full of boss ladies full of wonder and hustle. It is admirable to call this my career and to be surrounded by such supportive women.
I want the world to know that my brand is built on a foundation of passion, creativity, and dedication. My story is one of transformation, both personally and professionally. I started with a vague dream and, through hard work and guidance, turned it into a flourishing career. My goal is to help others feel their best and most beautiful on their special day, bringing their visions to life with artistry and care. My brand represents not just beauty, but also empowerment. You truly can do anything you set your mind to.
