We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin Simone Rainbow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmin Simone, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from DFW, Texas. I was raised by a big loving Christian family. For as long as I can remember both my parents and grandparents instilled in me the importance of having manners as well as speaking and acting with love, kindness, and respect. As I got older and began to have my own life experiences, I became more empathetic as well as emotionally intelligent and refined my communication, social, and interpersonal skills to not only serve those around me but myself. So with time, this Southern charm, grace, and fervent heart for people I possess seemed to come quite naturally.

My foremost priority because of my faith-based beliefs, is my commitment to serving the needs of others with humility on a daily basis. I strive to be a guiding light for those around me by doing the best I can with the knowledge and resources I have, always seeking truth and pursuing righteousness in all my ways. Currently, I serve as a youth leader at my church, and I channel my purpose and passion into creating inspirational youtube videos and writing music and poetry.

I have a growth mindset and always welcome wins, striving for success in life, love, and leadership. However, I also believe that as long as I do my best, I can accept failure and show myself compassion, understanding, and appreciation. I believe that lessons are blessings, problems are solutions, and minor setbacks are opportunities for major comebacks. I aim to live in the moment with acceptance and peace, while moving forward with wisdom and hope, staying positive through it all. Despite the struggles I experienced as a child, I am proud of the woman I have become today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My newfound career as a fashion model has definitely brought some excitement and thrill into my life. 2 years ago I would’ve never pictured my tomboyish diffident self exhibiting my femininity in front of lights, cameras, and crews. I am extremely grateful that God has blessed me with new opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone to learn, grow, and become more creative and fearless than I was before. Getting to this point has been quite a journey full of unexpected twists and turns as well as life changing moments and experiences all of which I humbly accept and appreciate.

My youtube channel Where Love Shines by VVS Studios creates content for those searching for hope, committed on healing, uniting for harmony while spreading pure happiness and compelled to persevere forward until the good work started in us is complete. Inspired by Philippians 1:6.

VVS represents all those flawlessly flawed and the imperfectly perfect. With humble beginnings we were once simple rough stones under the immense pressures of the world and the unpredictable fervor of nature, yet on the inside we remained full of boundless potential and beauty.
As we hold strong under pressure, each one of us are being uniquely formed, shaped, and polished into fearfully and wonderfully made gems by the grace of the Creator. For everlasting love, we may shine transparently bold, bright, and beautiful forever in glory.

My goal for VVS Apparel is for people to feel comfortable, confident, and secure in our clothing garments. I aim for people to be able to move freely in our material without fear of restriction or damage. I want my designs to catch the eye and grab attention from all aesthetes. I intend for people to know without a doubt that when they’re wearing VVS, they’re wearing a piece created with a admirable purpose and vision. I intend to use my business to spread an impactful message dressed in beauty, luxury, and grace. I am determined to be a light in the fashion industry and create a movement that prospers everyone and everything connected to it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a true foodie, so you can trust me when I say you have to try Aunt Bill’s Soul Food Cafe, Agas, Lucille’s, Tacos Dona Lena, Glory Cuisines, and Killen’s Barbecue. I am also a homebody, but for amusement, I would go out and explore The Museum District, Hermann Park, The Bayou, Rodeo and Livestock Show, and The Galleria.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to my grandmother, Sharon Estella, for always being there for me in good times and bad times. I call her my angel on earth because of how faithful she has loved, encouraged, protected, and provided for me in every way since I was born.
I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am today without my granny’s support.
Most importantly, may all glory and honor go to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for every good thing in my life.
I am grateful to God for His patient and loving hand that has remained over my life through every trial, test, tribulation, and temptation that I have encountered.
I have experienced victories and defeats, joy and sorrow, success and failure, I contain weakness and strength, love and pain. Regardless of the circumstances, outcomes, or situations, my God has been my refuge and has generously blessed me with His unconditional love, mercy, grace, and favor.
