We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Cardet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Raised in the equestrian community of Spring, Texas, I’ve had an enduring affinity for horses. My youth was spent honing my riding skills and developing a deep appreciation for the care and dedication required to own these magnificent creatures. This early exposure instilled in me a lifelong commitment to equine welfare.

A Place for Peanut’s success is rooted in this unwavering commitment and its ability to cultivate a compassionate and supportive community. Our organization’s mission-driven approach has been instrumental in its growth. By rescuing and rehabilitating horses facing dire circumstances, we provide a sanctuary where these animals can heal and thrive. Our educational endeavors to raise awareness about the plight of unwanted horses have been crucial in garnering public support and driving donations. Moreover, A Place for Peanut’s inclusive atmosphere, welcoming individuals and families who share our passion, has fostered a strong sense of community and volunteerism. These factors have contributed to our organization’s success as a beacon of hope and compassion for horses in need.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a lifelong Houstonian, I’ve developed an intimate understanding of the city’s diverse neighborhoods and ever-evolving market. My passion for real estate, coupled with my expertise in technology, allows me to offer a sophisticated and personalized experience for both buyers and sellers.

My dedication to global real estate is evident in my certification as a Certified International Property Specialist. This global network of elite practitioners has equipped me with the skills to navigate the intricacies of international transactions, catering to Houston’s growing multicultural population.

Beyond my real estate endeavors, I’m a proud founder of A Place for Peanut, a non-profit equine rescue. My commitment to these majestic animals is deeply rooted in my heart, and a portion of my real estate sales directly supports their well-being.

I believe in creating a personalized experience for each client, fostering lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect. It’s this dedication to service that has fueled my success and earned me referrals from satisfied clients.

Choose me as your real estate partner and experience the difference of local expertise with a global perspective.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend were visiting, I’d showcase Houston’s historic charm and the neighborhoods that shaped me. A tour of local art galleries and the city’s latest installations would be a must. Backstreet Cafe is a classic, but I’m always open to culinary adventures. Any restaurant with a captivating ambiance is sure to pique my interest. And for a touch of tradition, a polo match or a leisurely game of croquet in the park would complete a perfect Houston day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to be inspired, encouraged, and supported by many. My mother, Gayle Williford, has consistently urged me to pursue my dream of advocating for the voiceless. My dear friends and fellow board members, Jayne Edison and Christine Burke, share my passion and are unwavering in their commitment to overcoming challenges. When funds are scarce, they tirelessly work to secure the necessary resources for life-changing surgeries and rescues. Their invaluable contributions have been instrumental in our organization’s ability to save countless horses.
