We had the good fortune of connecting with Nastassia Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nastassia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to do something that allowed me to have freedom of expression, be creative, and use my visions to bring happiness to others through art. I always had a fascination with colors and loved doing different things that allowed me to think outside the box and let my craft stand out and speak for itself. I believe I always had a nag for rearranging and decorating things since I was a child lol. When we would go over to any of my parents friends house growing up, the kids would be in the room playing and I was always for some odd reason wanting to clean, rearrange, and decorate (or should i say “revamp”) their room lol. I always got compliments from people for doing this and I guess it was rare for a child to do at the time lol. I always wanted to create different looks to things I noticed including fashion lol. Fast forward 15 years ago I started playing around with “decals” which allowed me to be more creative and perfect my work and give it a different look. I wanted to turn my passion into something more and be a little more versatile. I wanted to come up with a catchy business name that identified what i did in a (clever Signature way lol) and a logo that stood out and represented me in the right way that would be eye catching. That’s when “NASTASSIA’S CRIB COUTURE” was birthed. In my logo design people would ask me “what made you use the spider?” Well..spiders are creative, they change their styles daily creating different looks for different environments and their homes. From how i see it they also create art. My hands are the paint brush just like the spiders legs. I want clients to know “Our job is to create and make you feel at home. We Specialize in party planning, custom vases, professional organizing, and revamping your home.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from the rest is nobody ever knows what i’ll do next or come up with lol. It’s also all in the details for me, I’m a very detailed person lol. I’m excited to show the world something different that I have to offer that no one else has done yet. Despite the obstacles it’s never easy to either run or start a business because of everything that is required to make it happen but I’m proud of myself that I kept pushing to finish what I started and to believe in what I could do. Back in 2020 when the world shut down for a short period of time I was able to hone in and invest more time and energy into myself to get my business off the ground. I love the saying “Dreams don’t work unless you do” because it rings so true to the meaning, you gotta start somewhere. I started visually working on things in my home, I hired someone to create daily content for me on my social media platforms and to get word out from people who have seen my work and knew I had a eye that was on to something. The only challenge I would have to say is in order for other people to believe in you and your vision is to get ahead in life and invest in yourself, you gotta invest in yourself first. You have to trust your work, your vision, and your craft in the process and invest what is necessary. You have to let your work speak for itself. Ive had some people let me rearrange their homes or gave me a shot so I could grow a platform for my business. A lot of blood, sweat, focus, hard work, faith, and dedication is all you need to be successful. I would have to say the challenging part is how far are you willing to go to prove to yourself that you believe in your own vision. What I’ve learned is keep faith first, GOD gave you that dream for a reason. No matter how many times you fall keep getting up and try again. What I would like the world to know about me is that I’m just a puppet for GOD. My brand is to carry out his visions and tell stories through my art visually inside clients homes to bring happiness and smiles with lasting memories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have to say I’m an adventurous person that likes a little bit of everything and I like to go with the flow lol, but one of my favorite parts to go to is The Woodlands. I love the scenery (cute for date nights) food and activities. As for food spots Houston has so many because that’s what we are known for, but my favorite recent spot is a seafood place called “Angry Crab”. It gives off a SpongeBob theme that’s different which is cute and the food is great! Also i’m a big kid at heart so if my friend came to town we would go hit up Dave & busters, Main Event, or maybe Top Golf lol. We might go to some great lounge spots with good drinks, music, food, and hookahs because i love dancing and having a good time. If they were looking for a place to study with a nice ambience, good bakery treats and food I would take them to one of my favorite spots called “Tout Suite”. Citycentre is another spot I like to go to shop, eat, and have fun. Galveston or Crystal beach would be my next spot because I love looking at the sunset and water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves all the credit! They support me in everything i do in life and the reason why i hustle and grind everyday. I’m grateful for their wisdom, keeping us active, traveling, and providing us opportunities to see what life had to offer than parting and getting in to trouble. My parents were very active in our lives and always wanted what was best for us and to travel every year. I’m grateful for my upbringing and what they did for us to get ahead and keep us active to see what we was good at and who we would become by putting our hidden talents that we may haven’t discovered yet to good use. I appreciate my parents for always instilling faith in us growing up and to always put GOD first no matter what we did in life. I appreciate my friends that have supported me time and time again to be my best self and to strive to be great at my fullest potential. I can honestly say I’m grateful for the things life has thrown at me to level up, to be humble, to hustle, never settle, and to strive for my dreams and reach for success. I’m grateful for the people that I was blessed with along my path that were great mentors growing up or throughout the years that made me a better person. These are the people who made me who I am today to level up and be that rising star, the go getter, a warrior. I cant wait to show the world what else i have up my sleeve for the future!:)
