We had the good fortune of connecting with Eddy Specter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eddy, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Webster, Texas and I was brought up by a father with a background in the Marines and my mother who opened my mind to the spiritual side of life. For example, she gave me a ouija board to bring to school for show and tell. So I am a Mulder and Scully in one. I am open to all things paranormal but I always must find the scientific side of any situation. This all led to one day getting a job for a ghost tour company. It went great, then after the owner passed away, I continued to pursue the strange and unusual here in glorious haunted Galveston Island. For 15 years I have provided historical haunted walking tours, cemetery tours, mystery island tours, and also have attended Ghost Conventions and driving my 1989 Cadillac Hearse “Vincent” in their Mardi Gras parades and Ghost parades. Soon the hearse will be available for rides around the island.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ever since high school I have been involved with theatre, acting in movies, tv shows, and creating content about anything and everything. I even had a popular podcast for about 6 years, interviewing celebrities, authors, experts, etc. I have also hosted Ghostly Paranormal Conventions with spooky celebrities as well. Having all these experiences has helped me with large groups on my tours. There are too many other ghost tour guides who wear shorts and t-shirts, they can’t project their voice, and the don’t know how to read a room, or they are not passionate enough. My tour guides and myself all dress the part and know what we are doing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You could spend your whole time on Galveston Island. First I would recommend one of their many great bed and breakfasts or luxury hotels. Of course take my tours! Enjoy the beaches and ferry to see the dolphins. So much to do on the island. I would also tell them that the best egg rolls are at a secret location.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The original owner of Ghost Tours in Galveston, Dash Beardsley, started it all. He was a rock star and everyone loved him. He was the blue print and staple on how to give a great historical ghost tour. He was my mentor.

Friends and family support was a big help. My wife, my puppy dogs (who have been on the tour), of course my loyal tour guides who are amazing, and a lovely investor who just wanted to help a friend.
