We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamon Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamon, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am a Houstonian through and through, being born and raised right here. Houston is a large melting pot of individuals from all walks of life and I like to think I’ve been impacted by those I have come in contact with. Houston is a resilient city and has taught me the importance of being resilient throughout my journey. Today, I look back over all my experiences, good and bad, and I am grateful. My upbringing has molded my determination, unwavering faith and understanding that I can have anything in life I want with hard work and sacrifice. I believe navigating through difficult situations with a smile aids you and places you in positions to succeed.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve always heard your business and its results are a reflection of you. This is particularly true in real estate where you are your business. Fortunate for me, I learned at an early age who I wanted to be and have been working at being that guy for a while. I choose the real estate journey, or maybe it chose me. My grandfather was a master carpenter and I drew a lot of who I am by watching him. He was a stranger to no one and everyone loved him. I knew then that’s how I wanted to be perceived in life. In my high school career and technical education courses, I excelled in architecture and design. Over time, I have received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Hampton University, I have rotated different managerial roles in the homebuilding industry, taught architecture and construction in HISD, I have flipped properties, built homes and commercial spaces from the ground up. I’ve taken from the experiences I’ve gained along with the network of relationships I’ve established and funneled them in to my business, Rochelle Marquee Properties. Our experiences are what makes us unique. Our background and involvement in Architecture, Education, and Construction uniquely qualifies us in the Real Estate world as a one stop shop for all our client’s real estate and construction needs. Rochelle Marquee Properties was created to educate communities on the benefits of investing in Real Estate. Whether investing in one’s first home or a multi-family for their investment portfolio, it is all vital to building generational wealth.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a loaded question being we are in the great city of Houston! There is so much to do here depending on the season! I am sure I would tell them to tailgate one of the Texans games, or check out the Rockets or Astros on one of their championship runs. I believe they would enjoy biking in the museum district and hanging out, eating, and drinking in EADO or City Centre. They should take some time to check out the great shopping in the Galleria. I’d certainly suggest checking out some of the best view of the city while golfing at Wildcat. It’s hard to pack everything Houston has to offer in a single visit, they would likely have to come back a few times!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m blessed to say I have people in my corner, who have prayed for me along the way and fostered the development of my identity. I would like to shout out my village. My tribe. These people have been there for me through it all. There is not a moment in life that my mother and father have not been there for me. Their wise and timely advice continues to be something I lean on today. My brother, Trent, is my best friend and someone I confide in regularly. Lastly, my wife Lauren and children Amaya and Anaiah are the reason I strap my boots up in the morning and work to build a legacy for them to be proud of after I’m gone. I’m forever grateful for them and they motivate me daily to be great.
