We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherron Breaux and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherron, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was tired of NOT feeling fulfilled and most importantly, I was tired of my boring desk jobs!!! I realized that I was losing my drive for WHAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and going to my job became harder and harder! I remember sitting at my desk with my head down in tears AND COULDNT UNDERSTAND WHY!

It wasn’t until I did a little soul searching and a whole lot of therapy when I realized “girl, you feel stuck because you’re not doing what God called you to do!” So I really stepped out on faith!

And I love love love fashion! I love color, I loved how getting dressed made me feel!!!! NO matter what was going in my life, once I got dressed and stepped out, I felt good (in that moment at least)…

Being stylish had become SUCH A CONFIDENCE BOOSTER And I knew that I wanted other plus size women TO FEEL WHAT I FELT

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I see color differently!!! I’m a dopamine girly! I love feel good fashion and I needed my clients to feel what I felt.

I started styling in 2013. I shared my work on various platforms and a whole lot of word of mouth!

I really have a heart for MY PEOPLE. The plus size girlies! I noticed that we wore black often because it was “slimming” but then I realized most of us were actually ashamed or trying to be hidden! And baby we can’t have that!

I’m not for everyone, I’m for the girls who don’t mind being seen! So I make sure to add bright colors or crazy patterns to their wardrobe!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man!!! Don’t come during the week because I’m an auntie lol but on Friday we going to Papadeaux because that dip be calling my name! Saturday we outside, I’m going to Xhale!!! It’s BYOB and Afrobeats! That’s all I need!

Sunday we starting with brunch at Gottis and i need R&B in my life so we can end the night at Faces on some grown and sexy type stuff!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents definitely!! My mom is a seamstress and she’s super creative. I feel grandfathered in when it came to the creative gene lol!

And my daddy! He was a big man before his WLS but he never let his weight shake his confidence! That definitely rubbed off on me!!! So shoutout to the parentals!!!! Momma you’re the GOAT and daddy I hope I’m making you proud!
