Meet Nicole Cook

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Entrepreneurship is woven into my story, both through family legacy and personal experience. My grandfather—my mom’s father—was an immigrant from Greece who built multiple businesses through hard work and resilience. My mom carried that same entrepreneurial drive, running a successful dance school that influenced so many lives. My dad also had that spirit, managing his own business and real estate ventures. Watching all of them taught me the value of vision, independence, and building something meaningful from the ground up.
Before becoming a publisher, I worked as a clinical counselor and also owned a successful aesthetics business that I eventually sold—and it’s still thriving today. Each step in my journey has been led by a desire to help people, to create something lasting, and to do work that aligns with my values.
I was raised to think creatively, connect authentically, and use my gifts to serve others. Helping people is at the core of who I am, and over time, that grew into a passion for mentoring and empowering others in their own business journeys. Starting my own business wasn’t just a professional decision—it was a personal calling to honor the legacy I come from while carving out a path that reflects who I am and what I believe in.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business journey has been a rewarding blend of passion, purpose, and perseverance. What sets my work apart is my deep commitment to building genuine relationships and mentoring others. I don’t just want to provide a service or product—I want to create a community where small businesses and individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
I was honored to be asked to serve as the executive director of a national Electrology association, a reflection of my dedication to the field and my strong commitment to upholding ethical and moral standards in practice. While I ultimately did not take on the role, the invitation affirmed my passion for the industry and the impact I’ve made within it. I’ve also served as a PCOS advocate, working to raise awareness for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome through PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association. Advocacy in this area has been deeply meaningful, supporting both medical advancements and greater understanding for those affected on a governmental level to help with medical regulation for PCOS.
Before becoming a publisher, I worked as a clinical counselor and built a successful aesthetics business that I eventually sold. Each chapter has been driven by my desire to help others thrive—whether through healing, education, or storytelling.
The journey hasn’t always been easy. Balancing family, learning new industries, and stepping outside my comfort zone presented challenges that I overcame by staying true to my mission, leaning on support from loved ones, and embracing growth.
One key lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t a straight path. It’s okay to pivot, seek help, and follow your values. Authentic connections and integrity sustain you through the ups and downs.
What I want people to know about me and my brand is that it’s about heart, legacy, and community. Rooted in a family tradition of entrepreneurship and a passion for helping others rise, I’m excited to continue growing and inviting others to join me on this journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d plan a mix of everything I love about Kingwood and Houston—great food, meaningful moments, and plenty of local charm. We’d start with a walk on the Greenbelt trails to show off the beauty of our neighborhood, then grab dinner at Raffa’s in Town Center. With delicious food and a peaceful lakeside view, it’s the perfect welcome.
I’d take them shopping at two of my favorite Kingwood boutiques: My Happy Place in Town Center and Melissa Sue’s Boutique inside Ace Hardware—both are full of style, great finds, and warm, welcoming vibes. For dinner one night, we’d make reservations at Chimichurri’s. The view is beautiful, and the food is a true celebration of South American flavors—fresh, bold, and unforgettable. It’s one of my favorite places to unwind.
We’d definitely hit Kingwood Taco Shop (a family favorite!) and, if it’s rodeo season, we’d spend a full day at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo—because there’s nothing like the music, food, and energy of a true Texas tradition. If not, we’d find a spot for line dancing and live music—because two-stepping is always a good idea.
One evening would be dedicated to a cozy backyard BBQ with friends and family. I’d probably pick up brisket from somewhere well-known, like Truth BBQ or another Houston favorite, and keep it simple with good food, great conversation, and music playing in the background.
We’d wrap the week with a Broadway show at The Hobby Center and Sunday brunch at The Flying Biscuit Cafe in Kingwood or at a well-known Houston spot like The Breakfast Klub. After brunch, a final stroll through Town Center would be the perfect way to say goodbye and leave with great memories—and plans for their next visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to my husband, Mike, who not only runs a successful roofing business but also stands as my rock and biggest champion. He’s been a constant source of encouragement, offering unwavering support through every twist and turn of my career. Mike’s belief in me fuels my confidence, and his partnership allows me to pursue my passions fully, knowing I have someone who truly understands and shares my drive for growth.
My two children, ages 9 and 12, are more than just my biggest cheerleaders—they’re actively invested in my growth both professionally and personally. They inspire me daily with their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, already launching their own small businesses and dreaming big. Their curiosity and excitement remind me to keep pushing forward, and their genuine interest in my work motivates me to lead by example. Having them involved in this journey makes it all the more meaningful and reminds me that building something lasting is truly a family effort.
