We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Jerome and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was a little boy, music and creating has always been something that I felt attached to and was extremely passionate about. I’m also a very ” just go for it” and “give it a shot” type of person so I had no doubts about trying to pursue making music either

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think the initial thing that separates me from other artists once you first listen is my sound itself. The sound & vibe that I go for in my music is really a sound that nobody else independent or mainstream is working with right now.

I’m very proud and thrilled of the accomplishments and records I have set with my music and the improvements I have made along the way of making music. It has given me a way of helping out other artists around me by providing what I have learnt across my journey.

For the future of my career I look forward to doing above and beyond things for my fans, things that no other artist won’t do or has done. Crazy things the might cost me to do, whether if it’s for the sake of time or money, but all in an effort to show appreciation to the ones that helped me get to where I’m at. I want to share that feeling of success and appreciated and make my fans feel like the truly matter and have made an impact.

Overcoming my challenges hasn’t all ever been easy, but making sure that I stay, humble, grounded, focused and aware is what kept me making more progress. Throughout all the setbacks, hate, betrayal and countless amounts of bullshit I’ve been through, that is what kept me down a great path. This would be the same type of advice I would give to anybody else that thinks of pursuing a music career.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A favorite spot of mine to sit down and eat at is a classic spot but, Los Cucos for the win. Los Cucos is probably the one mexican restaurant that I have been to where the food is the most authentic to mexican cuisine. This is not Tex-Mex to me, Los Cucos will ALWAYS and always be a solid spot for me and people around in the area!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s always tons of people I want to thank because even as an independent artist, not everything gets done all by myself and there are definitely some people who I care for that I think deserve their flowers from me. First and foremost, I really want to thank the fans and the people who are always tapping in to see what I have comming next and who keep playing the music I release, giving me feedback and sharing it around. As an independent artist is helps me more than enough to even just share the things I put out and unfortunately, I don’t think people realize how even just 1 individual could make a difference for somebody, for the better.

Secondly, I wanna thank the people I have by my side who actually go out their way to support me and tell me that their proud of me. My Father, my other family members, friends, coworkers or anybody that’s heard and been interested about me, they all matter so much to me and prioritize in cherishing them!

Last but not least, I have to thank God! If I didn’t have God in my life, I wouldn’t be doing this or have any of these people by my side supporting me and I feel very blessed for this gift I have that is music and creativity.
