We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Speir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
For me, success isn’t just about hard work — it’s about intentional growth surrounded by the right people. I’ve learned that one of my strongest habits is staying teachable. I’m part of Referral Mastery Academy, which constantly challenges me to sharpen my skills and think bigger. I’ve also been blessed with incredible support from my husband, who believes in me even on the days I doubt myself.

I stay deeply connected to my local church community, where I seek wisdom from trusted leaders and mentors who help me navigate both business and life with integrity. Accepting guidance from a seasoned mentor and investing in personal coaching has kept me accountable to my goals, while having a strong, faith-centered community around me keeps me grounded.

Every week, I make space for learning, reflection, and action — those three habits, combined with surrounding myself with the right people, have been the foundation of my grow.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m Megan Speir, a proud Leaders Under 40 honoree here in Lake Jackson—an acknowledgment that’s both humbling and a testament to years of hard work, community engagement, and unwavering support.
Instagram. What sets me apart in real estate is how deeply rooted my approach is in faith, relationships, and ongoing mastery. I’m committed to not just helping clients buy or sell homes, but guiding them through life transitions with compassion, clarity, and confidence.
Here’s how I built my path—and why it continues to thrive:
I leaned into Referral Mastery Academy, especially the Event Mastery class, to design engaging, value-driven community events that not only build connections but also create momentum for my business.
My mentor, Kathy Peters, and my coach, Karla Roberdeau, equip me with both big-picture strategy and the professional accountability to scale sustainably.
Broker Kim Beebe brings significant real estate insight and mentorship, helping me navigate complex transactions with trust and expertise.
At home, my husband, Michael, is my greatest champion—always encouraging the next step, the next goal, the next challenge.
And with four children at home, I couldn’t serve clients effectively without the loving support of my mom and in-laws. Their help allows me to be present in showings and meetings, knowing my family is well cared for.
Our local church community keeps me grounded and purpose-driven; shared values and trusted mentors ensure I lead with integrity, even when the market pulls me in a hundred directions.

Was it easy? Not at all. I started with self-doubt, fear of failure, and the struggle to balance business ambition with intentional parenting. But I overcame that by investing in my growth—through coaching, peer support, and leaning into faith-based guidance. Every constructively tough feedback moment shaped me into a better businesswoman, wife, and mother.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way:
Never stop learning—embrace training, mentorship, and community.
Surround yourself with *your* people, not just yes-people—the ones who push, pray, and persevere with you.
Lead with empathy and reliability, because buying or selling a home is more than a transaction—it’s life-changing.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m more than a Realtor; I’m a neighbor, a mentor-in-the-making, a community-builder, and someone who shows up—rooted in faith, backed by family, guided by mentors, and driven by a purpose larger than myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love coffee and Mexican food, so anything within those boundaries is good in my book. I also love to support local, and in the fall, one of my favorite things to do is visit the local Angleton Market Days, and appreciate other local small businesses making a difference in their community by bringing their gifts and talents. I would frequent La Casona and Puerto Vallarta Mexican restaurants, enjoy delicious coffee from Live Oak Cafe, and enjoy walks at the beautiful Lake Side Park. I;m not super big on city life, so I can appreciate the simple, more calm entertainment in a local community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s no question that I wouldn’t be where I am today without an incredible support system. First and foremost, my husband Michael has been my biggest encourager — always believing in me, picking me up on hard days, and celebrating every win right alongside me.

I’m blessed to have an amazing mentor, Kathy Peters, who has poured her experience and wisdom into me, and my Referral Mastery Academy coach, Karla Roberdeau, whose training and encouragement push me to grow beyond my comfort zone. My broker, Kim Beebe, has been a steady source of guidance and professional insight, helping me navigate challenges with confidence.

I also couldn’t do this without my mom and my in-laws, who step in to care for our four kids when I’m showing houses or in appointments — their love and practical help allow me to serve my clients well while keeping our family strong.

Every one of these people has played a part in my journey, and I’m deeply grateful for the way their mentorship, support, and encouragement have shaped my path.
