We had the good fortune of connecting with English Foxxx and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi English, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Always keep going. The minute you stop is a minute of time that you may never get back. In hard times you must always believe in yourself. Struggle and doubt may come about but you must never allow them to get the better of you. Take.a break and recuperate if you need but giving up should never be an option.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My art is like story time to me. It’s a way for me to tell stories with my voice. Tell my story, tell stories from another persons perspective or just make you feel with my thoughts. Growing up music was always apart of my life. My dad was a rapper/producer so he was always playing music to get inspiration from. He would play artists like Sam Cooke,The Doors and Madonna to name a few. Between him and.my mom’s music collection I can definitely tell you that’s where my love came from.

Starting my own music journey took a little time. I was having issues putting songs together at first but once I found my way! Masterpieces were born! My first album Lack Of Pattern is my most prized possession. It was the first time I really started exploring my mind and what I can really do.. Being able to sing, rap and come up with different melodies was a great experience. Shoutout to my producers at the time ; Only Osiriz, Nahvl and Emphasiz because they made that album what it is today. I’ve recently released an album called NIGHTVISION. It’s a 7 track journey through the emotions that come alive after dark.. I aim to make people feel and understand that there is someone who understands what you’re going through. Whether it’s being in love, stressing, getting high after a long day of work, or just wanting to be at peace, you can always listen to English Foxxx. That is what sets me apart from others. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For starters we are about to eat like crazy. It’s so many food spots in Houston it’s ridiculous.. The first couple of days we would hit up local treasures like Frenchy’s, Timmy Chan’s on MLK, Esther’s, etc. One day or a few days depending on their taste we would swing by Shipleys. They have the greatest batch of glazed donuts you will ever have in your life. Throughout the week we’d take a trip to some local places. If they’re a lover of art they would appreciate the.beautiful statues the Fine Arts museum has.The museum district in itself is a day full of interest. I love a good arcade so we’re for sure going to The Game Preserve. $15 dollars and they can play all the games their little heart desires. During the weekend we would eat more but not before we hit up musical events happening around the area. Dope promoters are always putting together events. Sometimes we will have shows or throw Southern showdowns.(our music events). If they like to chill we can always hangout in the crib. We can write some tunes, watch some movies, etc. I’m always down for a nice day at home
