We had the good fortune of connecting with Raven Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raven, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The reason I pursued a creative career is simply because I believe I was born to create. I truly do not believe in the notion that anyone can get tired of creating art. You can only get tired of the surrounding environment that the art is created in. As there is an infinite source of creativity; you just have to seek it. For instance, when I was young I went to the library and I mostly gravitated towards the art books section. I also played clarinet in band class and learned sheet music in school. My mom went to buy me my first guitar at 8 after seeing my interest in music. Then my Nana went to buy me the music book to learn the guitar chords. So my first step was being drawn towards art and equally having the curiosity to continue to build the set of skills to create. Fast forward to high-school I filmed my first music video and vlog for a group of my peers. I didn’t know how to use any of the editing tools but I had a video camera and a laptop at my disposal. So I ended up learning Premiere Pro that very night. I stayed up all night because this program was foreign language to me. Eventually, finishing the video and falling in love with the art of filmmaking. Because that night I learned filmmaking is an ever changing landscape with infinite capabilities. And videos are like time machines that capture memories. I mean I could go on and on about the things that lead me into an artistic pathway but again I just believe I was just born to create. There is no other way to put it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

7 L’Anges is a creative multi-media agency that I built with DeAnthony Palmer who is my long-time friend and the co-founder of 7 L’Anges,

7 L’Anges specializes in music videos, interviews, films, and content curation services.

What I want people to know about 7 L’Anges is that we built our media company from the ground up. We believe in the future of filmmaking wholeheartedly. And we actually are passionate about our creative projects and endeavors.

We got to where we are by doing the work and continuously fostering the community that pours into us. While also returning that supportive and collaborative energy back to into our community.

I’ll say one golden rule to even step into the film industry is to have heart. You have to absolutely love it. Because nothing worthwhile in life comes easy but it’s the steps you take along the way that can lead to success. And personally it’s the most fulfilling way to go. So we believe in the motto believe of “putting put in the work, till it works out”. Everything ultimately comes with time and patience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in Houston are definitely Mid-town and Downtown Houston. I am a coffee person so in the morning so prelude coffee is a good spot to check out you get a nice muffin with TX honey and cinnamon latte. Any low-key spot with burritos is nice I’m not too picky with restaurants but if it has good food reviews then I’m going. Visit a couple art museums get inspired and hang out with a couple of friends and collaborate. Nothing too crazy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out God first and foremost without God nothing is possible. My entire family and friends who encourage me and guide me in the right direction. DeAnthony palmer who is the co-founder of our creative multi-media agency 7 L’Anges . And my long-time multifaceted creative collaborator Jamaal Bethea,
