We had the good fortune of connecting with Kea Monroe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process on starting and growing my business is basically that I wanted to share my passion for massage in my own setting. I wanted to achieve this by setting my own schedule and applying information I have learned as an experienced massage therapist in my own practice. This allows me to preform and function better while providing quality services.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m me and I embrace that. I showcase that by not always hoping on trends in business. I simply do what suits Ms. Monroe’s Massage. If something goes wrong in business I dont dwell on it in a negative way, I focus on solutions.

It definitely hasn’t always been an easy journey. darkness molded me to my business making it impossible for me to give up. I went through a separation and divorced during the first year of attaining a physical location for my business. (Before I had a physical location I provided mobile massage while being employed at spas.) That situation taught me that all I have to look forward to is growth. So why not keep moving forward, you know?

I want the world to know that Ms. Monroe’s Massage isn’t just a place to enjoy skilled massage therapy with a mixture of techniques. I also want you know that its an experience. I truly appreciate my clients and want to meet their needs and its felt. I pride myself on providing a comfortable safe environment. You are sure to feel my love for my craft in my touch and presence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting I would probably take her to Post houston during the day. There we would enjoy some food then relax on the rooftop.

We would also partake in a few artsy outings. (Live music, crafting, art shows, poetry lounge, the museum and so on)

We would also experience some fine dining or nice restaurants.
(ChopNblok, Aim Thai, Gatlin’s fins and feathers, Fogo de Chao)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my clients. My clients motivate me to keep going. I am forever grateful to them because they believe in my abilities. They always support and stand by me. I am forever grateful.
