Meet Cody V | Co-Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody V and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business partner, Jonny, originally came up with the donut and coffee concept. I had always wanted to open a craft coffee shop, so when I heard about his idea, I immediately reached out to see if he was open to partnering. We were both ready to move on from the corporate restaurant world and wanted to build something that reflected our values — a space that served our community while offering high-quality coffee and pastries in a welcoming, creative environment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We both started at the very bottom with the corporate restaurant companies we worked for and eventually worked our way up to general manager roles. That experience gave us a real respect for the industry — we learned how to manage every aspect of a business, from staff and inventory to production and finances. Every penny that comes through our shop, we know how to manage it because we’ve done it all firsthand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they were coming to this area of course you have to be a tourist and take them to NASA Space Center, then we would go to Hyde Park for some great food

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
