Meet Trent Tucker | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trent Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trent, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Once you become addicted to the entrepreneurs journey there is no going back where you started. Everyday you wake up is a chance to grow and do better than you did the day before. It becomes a drug that will change your life, your mindset, your friends, and everything for the better. There are times where having a lot of responsibility can cause stress and become hard. That is the storm, you have to learn how to survive the storm when it comes to see the other side. For me giving up is not an option. It would mean having my same mindset and having someone else decide my pay, schedule, and limit my growth. I can never go back to the 9-5.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I own & operate an exterior cleaning business (pressure washing). It was not easy at all. There are so many struggles and challenges that test you every day. The first few years are the hardest. I just never gave up. When the storms came I always found a way to survive. I’ve learned self sacrifice. You will sacrifice many things in order to survive. Most people in my line of work are not strong enough to survive. There are many start up companies every year but most of them give up when it gets hard. That’s why they fail, you have to try harder and have confidence in yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love being by the ocean. I love being able to grab a fishing pole and drive down the street and fish anytime I want. I enjoy visits to Galveston. Not the city or seawall. I’m talking about westend where the beach’s are almost private and beautiful homes everywhere you look. My idea of a good time is going where there are no people, just the sound of water and nature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be my old boss Marco before I started my business. I worked weekends building my business and worked full time during the week. My old boss taught me a lot of stuff and supported me becoming my own boss and never tried to slow me down.
